The Expanse season 5 and the cancel culture mob.
13 June 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Season 5 is mostly the Naomi show, I love that they did spend some time on Amos. The show seemed less like a great Sci-Fi show and more like they were trying to compete with Michael Burnham from Discovery which made me quit that show. Not sure about the actress but can't stand the character. Spoiler... she did a great job last ep of the season if the director had her crying less often the rest of the season it would have had more impact. And after seeing several people die in the show I liked in the last two seasons Alex was the last straw. Did not watch the rest of the last episode of the season.

Learned there is a lot of cancel culture saying Cas Anvar did some stuff, looked at a lot of it most of it was hearsay at best... oh and it was he seemed to hit on women for a hook up at a con. If he has done worse let's get some proof out here until then he got canceled by an outrage mob that got but hurt over someone hitting on them I won't support that. So your channel can live without some of us waiting on some actual proof of misconduct.

Probably wont finish, first five minutes was telling....

Warning: Spoilers
If you have to do ultra quick cinematography camera angle changes during a fight scene then you dont know how to film/stage one. Yes old kung fu movies did it but today we want better and know how to do better. There are plenty of good action flicks where the fight scenes did not rely on it. And in addition to help sell the scene it went back and forth to a interrogation/exposition scene. If I ever finish it ill change my rating.

Godless (2017)

Spoilers and salty commentary.
28 November 2017
Warning: Spoilers
Today I thought I would warm up by addressing some of the idiotic or reviews with agendas that I think totally missed the mark of any honest review mostly on Netflix itself. I also thought the main characters did a dam fine job. The mini-series was about the right length in episodes. I don't think they got too far in the weeds even if they added some more modern relationships. And overall enjoyed it. This is NOT a family show. Here are some Spoilers to talk about a few points I see on the forums that are BS. Let's get right to it…there seem to be a few that somehow got the message this was a 3rd wave feminist driven western. I just binge watched most of the show and re watched the trailer. Not sure where they got the memo but they were wrong. It is however a Western with Strong and Week characters. Some are men, women and also of varying diversity, more so than Most Westerns out there. And here is a point a few may have missed, if someone was a minority or not a man back then, few would have pushed the envelope. As is there is a lesbian couple which should probably only have happened in the open in a town like there were in. There was also an interracial couple, (bravo good characters) but probably would not have happened very often in the old west. And both happening in the same town would probably have got the town renamed to Gomorrah. Now for story-line and some good acting I can roll with some inaccuracies or simply unbelievable situations. I did not like how easily the Buffalo Soldiers were taken out, thought that was a wasted opportunity of the writers. I think some were fine with the women being "strong" up and to the point where the women actually acted like they needed/wanted men. Guess we forgot nature along the way somewhere, and it is apparently fine for Goode to forget most of his survival instinct to save women we just can't have them dependent in Any way towards men. Also of note is that the character which has some "Shane" traits risked his life for a mixed child. And that the two men that came back to help save the town (that really did not pull any amazing feats) really only helped save it. The women did most of it, yet there are complaints that men came back to help the town as heroes. Not sure we watched the same dam thing… didn't see a parade for them after, and saw no mention of how it was nice they came back instead of just walking the other way. Which brings me to the following. It seems if a man in this western does something for a woman it makes the woman week or that it is done out of some alternative reason. What a bunch of feminist BS. Also, a lot of talk about the violence towards the women but nothing about the two children, the 83 men lost in the mine trying to provide for the town, the sheriff that died trying to stop the bad guy, or the fact that in the west most men were considered expendable and often died at a very early age trying to support their families. I am a bit tired of seeing a feminist BS re write of history, or how were not allowed to watch history that is close to true since obviously if we watch it we must agree with the patriarchal or whatever the hell view point we should be apologizing for today.

Highly entertaining but not fast paced stand up...
30 January 2016
I just watched Jay Johnson: The Two & Only...

At first I went into it thinking of it as more of stand up comedy which it is not. It is entertainment, stage act, ventriloquism, with roots in traditional vaudeville. He is a consummate entertainer. And as he remembered his mentor, I thought bout my youth, sitting in a tree in the back of my grandpas yard and dreaming of the future.

I highly recommend this to anyone over 40 or anyone with the patience to watch entertainment that is perhaps revealed in a slower pace than most routines now days!

One of the best seasons yet... totally don't understand the current rating!
24 July 2014
I never post or review, but seriously the current season is one of the best out of all the similar types of shows.... hands down! Just watch and compare it to Rising Star, or the the Voice! Some of the talent they have this year is Sick! Also some of the most diverse talent gets to shine and be heard when they would never reach a global audience based on to many factors that have nothing to do with there talent. Thank goodness for shows like this that brings exceptional people to the front. And I love Ronan hes honest when he has to be "the voice of reason" but you can tell he is emotionally invested in the talent he believes in. The rest of the judges are awesome as well, the tend to pick some of the riskier talent which balances out extremely well! I cant believe the current IMDb rating, please vote if you love this show!
