Night Court (2023)
A great start, but
My wife and both enjoyed the original very much and find the reboot to be very good so far. It's a nice balance of heart and humor. Could do without so much laugh track, you're trying too hard and it's annoying. It's a very good start and we hope it continues.
BUT!!!!!!! Where is the theme song??? This unicorns and tissue paper synthesizer thingy you're using is pathetic! KICK IN THE BASS!
This will never match the original without it!
Look up original theme song. It's all over YT. In 10 seconds you'll hear the difference. And the soprano sax adds so much that musician should have won an award for that performance.
Halo (2022)
It's a good thing this wasn't first.
I've never played HALO. But I was generally interested in the show and it was growing on me. Until this one. Who thought a show spawned from a video game should have an episode without any action focusing on the odd, random characters? At least the little girl (Kwan) didn't throw the Master Chief around as if the laws of physics didn't apply. The common trope of small humans being able to beat up huge ones is so common in TV/movies these days but it's still laughable.
Star Trek: Discovery: Coming Home (2022)
STD jumps the space shark...
No matter what version of the show they have presented (the bizarre Klingons, the TOS prequel, jumping 900 in the future, etc.) each has overwhelmingly failed to capture viewers interest or remotely resemble the Trek that came before. Now they are also screwing up the "behind the scenes" aspect of the show by jumping the shark with stunt casting a failed politician. The show runners have no shame, no talent and no idea how to do Star Trek.....
Star Trek: Discovery: Kobayashi Maru (2021)
Version 4.0
The first season had outrageously advanced technology pre-TOS and the most bizarre take on the Klingons in the history of Star Trek. The second season tried to clean up those plot anomalies and be a prequel to TOS. The third version jumps 930 years in the future to a completely different reality with no Federation. The fourth version has us trying to create a new Federation where there are still universe ending physical challenges. In other trek show there were villains (Borg, Romuluns, Kazon, Zindi, Dominion, etc.) that stayed around for awhile. Reality was basically the same in all of them. In this show reality changes every season and adversaries last an episode or two. When the universe is constantly changing story and character development gets lost in the jumble. What a mess!
Last Man Standing: Keep on Truckin' (2021)
A creative way to end it!
I loved this episode. They could have done what lot's of shows do and tell "what's going to happen" to all the characters. If we already have a good idea and the rest was left to the I imagination. This was a clever, interesting thank you to the cast, crew and audience. I applaud the creativity and the quality of the acting. Thank you for a wonderful series!
Cakealikes (2021)
This is really, really bad...
We watch kid baking shows, Buddy vs Duff, holiday baking shows and more. This one we could only watch for about 10 minutes. The premise of making cakes that look like people is OK, but somewhat limiting. But the really, really unwatchable part is the judges. They make snarky comments about the bakers, are not funny or interesting...basically so annoying that it's impossible to ignore. Sorry, but we're done.
If this is a preview of Discovery+ you're in trouble.....
Star Trek: Discovery (2017)
How many series are you going to do?
Besides all of the failures in logic, storytelling and production involved in this series overwhelmingly explained well by others, this is my disappointment with STD. It is a different show every season. The first season was a bizarre take on the Klingons, amazing tech never seen before yet we're in the past and mirror universe nonsense. Then the second season is a completely different show with many different flaws, but it somewhat served as a prequel to TOS. This third season, 900 years later, is a completely different show with different issues and characters. No character from the first two seasons, except the crew, can be part of season 3and beyond. It's as if each season is a new pilot series trying to find one that works. None of them have worked. Give it up.....
Star Trek: Discovery: That Hope Is You, Part 2 (2021)
Which series is next?

Blue Bloods: Triumph Over Trauma (2020)
This was not worth the wait.....
I've watched the episode twice just to be fair. But this episode broke the laws of "logical physics" many times. Danny can't break or shoot through a simple wooden door in an old house. Or use his cell phone? Or use Baez's phone? No one can track their car? Then there is the story of Jenko "finding" this man's body. When would she have the time to fight through NYC's idiotic bureaucracy while the man's daughter couldn't do it. I do believe the city staff would be that disorganized and dismissive, but I don't think they would be any better to an NYPD officer. I actually liked the storyline with Regina Thomas. The best part was Garrett's reading of the letter and the especially the "PS" part. That was the highlight of an otherwise bizarre and low quality episode.
Star Trek: Lower Decks (2020)
It's supposed to be a comedy, right?
This is a show for kids who grew up with the "slime" shows on Nickelodeon and thought the shows were real life. It's not funny, not Star Trek, not logical just.......not. Stars Wars has animation that tells stories and often there are funny parts. Lowest Decks is just like that except there are no funny parts or stories that make sense. Just dialogue that is accelerated so fast it's almost indecipherable.
SEAL Team: Fog of War (2020)
Best episode yet regarding Seal Team culture
Loved the twists and turns throughout the ep but the best part was the acting. The interaction within the squad was award worthy. Outstanding closure for the Columbia arc and the Vic arc.
