Gundala (2019)

Surprise from Indonesia

I was surprised to see the Indonesian version of "Marvel" and it's marvelous!

I never expected to see superheroes other than the usual American and Soviet ones, or the once in a while Chinese heros, but this movie looks like the beginning of something very interesting.

There are some length but most are necessary for the understanding of the movie. It is not a dumb-as-it-comes-hollywood movie, there is multiple stories interacting with each other, plus the important flashbacks.

The action is quite interesting and fun. Once again, I find it better than Hollywood fake green screen action where most of the actors sit on a chair while the animators do the actual action. This movie has REAL action, with REAL actors.

It is a good movie and makes you want to see more, especially with the end. No more said, watch it!

Enchanting movie you want to see again

I really enjoyed this movie. I was not expecting this at all. I thought it would be a "wanna-be" version but it actually is the BEST version I've seen. The animation is really great, it feels real.

The movie is based on reality instead of simply fun and games. Mowgli faces real challenges, real situation and risks death many times. The characterization of the animals is so great that they sound human (although we are not a good reference for this planet, we're destroying it completely). The action is plentiful and you will not get bored.

If you like to experience new ways of seeing a book, this version of the Jungle Book is THE one to watch! Kudos!

Solis (2018)

It could have been title; Stubborn

OMG, another part of my life gone, and nothing out of it if only some yawns. This is terrible for so many reasons.

First, this movie has 1 actor. That's it. I saw movies with 1 actor that kept me fascinated the whole time, this one, I was wishing he would die and the movie would end.

That is the second reason. The character is stubborn like heck. He keeps arguing, he keeps asking the same thing over and over. It felt like a road trip with the kids saying "are we there yet". It is very annoying.

The movie seems to go somewhere but it goes nowhere. A lot of trying-to-be action that has so many flaws that I won't list them, let's say that anyone that did some physics will notice if they watch this thing.

Third reason is the spoiler. How does it end? You guess as someone that hasn't seen it is as good as mine that has seen it. Gives you a hint!

I love many kind of movies, including some very crappy ones, but this to me is a waste of time. If you did not like "The Martian" (which I thought was incredible), then don't even consider this one, it is so slow and uneventful that you can easily fall asleep...but then you'll wake up to the annoying guy shouting the same thing over and over again. (Shut up and die already!)

Sorry, my opinion, sincerely.

Anyone that read this wonderful saga CANNOT like this series. It is fraudulous, wrong, totaly irrespectful of the themes and characters, so it's another Hollywoodian crap.

Most Hollywood producers don't know how to read so they cannot reproduce novels and stories correctly. They get pitches from others that read some parts or did not understand the book and then they try to reproduce this to make more money.

LOSERS! Why don't you learn how to read? With all the money you're stealing yearly you could afford some courses! What a bunch of nobodies that think they are so good when they are the crap of the crap.

This series should be destroyed not to diminish the work of the excellent author. This series looks like a cheap thrill bar-like version. Cannot even respect the character. It is totaling shocking and should be DESTROYED.

If you liked the saga, DON'T watch this, you will be very disappointed. (Good reviews are from people that did not read the saga, otherwise they would not lick the balls of that producer!)

Beyond Skyline (2017)

Sulked by Hollywood

Another good movie sulked by Hollywood and their fans, you can read many of them here, they are the one giving bad ratings.

This movie is quite good and entertaining and it is NOT of "hollywoodian" type, this means no cheesy sex-scene while people are dying around you, no american flag showing up to "ave-the-world" (especially nowadays with the Orange Squirrel in charge), so real entertainment without the usual cheesyness.

This time they went further, not being censored by the american right that manages hollywood and the medias in general, and showed us "an" idea of what aliens could be and how they could be organized.

There is a lot of action, some interesting views on the alien society and "thinking" soldiers (proving they cannot be american soldiers!).

To the opposite of many hollywood movies, there is no waste of time with personal problems and frustrations. No, you will not see people blabbing about things not related to the subject and wasting your time with unnecessary information that gets you no closer to the understanding of the situation.

Very straight forward, some mistakes, some lack but very great entertainment. I hope they do a 3rd one similar to this one.

Something intelligent

This series stunned me, I was not expecting such a wonderful storyline. Guillermo del Toro always succeeded in meeting my expectations and more. This series is really good and inventive.

I find it is for teenagers and adult since the subjects are serious and down to Earth, even if we are talking about trolls.

The threads in this series meet nicely and are well thought, this is not a "let's make some fast dough" series like soooo many at the moment on air. These episodes should make you smile, be stressed and wanting to know more. Very well done!

Guillermo del Toro will stay my best director, screenwriter ever.

Don't miss this series.

Little Shop of Horrors (1986)

A Masterpiece of the 80's

I absolutely LOVED that movie. It contains everything for people like me; comedy, songs, dance, mystery, and such good actors its' unbelievable.

From the beginning song to the end I've been carried away on a laugh and love ride. Steve Martin is hilarious and to see him with black hair! Just that is worth the movie!

I've been totally carried away with the Skid Row song and dance. This is the best number I have seen since quite many years. The timing, the moves, the words, all is perfect and such performances by all that it blew my mind. I still listen to it on MP3 and see it in my head. Yes, it influenced me that much.

By the way, usually I prefer the director's cut, but in this case I prefer the theatre cut, it makes more sense. It flows better. I guess it will be upon each watcher to make their own decision.

This is still a masterpiece and should be watched by any serious movie lover, as long as you like song and dance in a movie.

Gremlin (2017)

Good movie, bad ratings

I gave 8 out of 10 so that this movie gets a chance.

The story is great, the acting is good, only the special effects are cheesy at some point but it doesn't take away the greatness of the story.

For once this is a story that I have never heard of, maybe Philippines people know of it but for a North American, this is fresh.

The movie is disturbing for some parts, and it could be even more disturbing with a budget. Nevertheless, it kept me wanting to know more, and the more you know, the more you want to know.

I would expect a follow-up to this movie, the story is too interesting to be left like this. Especially if they go with the way it ends, it would prove very interesting to see what happens next...

Some people rating ignore the fact that this is NOT a Hollywood movie with budget that comes from Satans-know-where, it is a small budget movie and VERY well done.

Try this movie, it is quite good. Don't expect ILM effects but quite decent ones.

The Tuche Family (2011)

Funny, different and hearth warming

This was very interesting and funny. Not being biased by Hollywood(crap) and most American(crap) stuff, this is refreshing and does not transport the stupid unintelligent crap that most Hollywood movies do, to the exception of one, and it is actually to make fun of the superficial idiots that make it their way of life.

The family, although very bizarre, is very united and stands together, to the opposite of most north American wannabe families. It is hearth warming to see so much love even in hard times and from people with not so much brains, with the exception of the kid! Brilliant play by the way!

So to those that are NOT into the Hollywood crap, this is a very good movie. Worth the time totally.

The Interview (II) (2014)

Wow! What a ride!

I absolutely loved this movie! Of course I am not a Republican so I don't believe in the power of royalty or presidency, to me they are all wastes-of-skin.

The script and the acting is good, I loved the play of Randall Park, he absolutely is as tricky as all those world "leaders" are, hypocrites, liars, killers, genocidal egotistical maniacs (ALL of them of EVERY country, my honest opinion).

Franco is playing the interviewer and acts really like some casual person meeting a "leader" (between parentheses because no one "leads" me!) and gets thrown in the spinning wheel of lies and deceptions that these hybrids of human creates to make you believe they are a bit human...surprise, they're NOT!

And of course the CIA (Corrupted Individuals Association) is shown like they are: warmongers that feeds on blood. I was surprised that Rogen did not get tortured by the real CIA for showing this since it is their usual ways.

I loved the slow motion scene with the helicopter and the missile, I wish we could see the same with every world leader, one by one, it would be glorious!

So if you are a society-sucker don't watch this you will be shocked. If you are awaken to the truth of this horrible society you will be pleased by this movie and will love it for the quantity of truth being revealed in it...subtly of course!

The ball is now in your camp to try this or not, I recommended it to all my friends and they all loved it but then again they are not Republicans or society-suckers like 70% of the population! Enjoy!!

A Million Ways to Die in the West (2014)

Wow, what a great movie. From the beginning to the end I had a smile on my face. This movie is really funny and makes you feel good. MacFarlane is really my soul brother, everything he does resonates with me, sometimes I even know what will happen because we seem to be on the same brain waves.

This is a Western Comedy but since I don't enjoy western movies I can tell you that this one is so good that I did not even notice the western part of the movie, Seth makes you forget you're watching what is supposed to be a western.

If you are not someone with a pole up their arse you will love this movie and laugh MANY times for some scenes are hilarious!

I've always known and thought of it but like Seth puts it: "I hate the F...ing West!" To me this is now a classic already, I had all my friends see the movie and they were all very happy and loved it.

Don't be afraid to watch it you will not regret it.

Beware of the false prophets

This movie could have been glorious and very interesting if it was not for all the religious B.S. put in it.

This felt like a movie made by the Republican party or the Vatican. If you are a free thinker you will NOT like this movie.

I am very disappointed that Nicolas Cage participated in such a religious marketing attempt.

To summarize this movie; if you are not a fanatic religious moron you will die. So if you don't believe this, don't even watch this movie it will simply annoy you like it did for me.

I should sue all religions to get where they shouldn't be and for stealing hours in my life. What a waste.

Extraterrestrial (2014)

Surprisingly interesting

I have seen many movies, and the kind I hate the most are the hand- held camera crappy movies (lots of them lately because peeps thinks it could be done by them and like that kind of B.S.).

Well, this movie has some part of it, when the idiot with the camera is filming (this idiot almost made me stop the movie, what an annoying character) we get the shaky camera crap. That's about it. The rest is nice and you can see what's happening (thank you for not making us dizzy for 1:30hrs).

Some scenes are really good if you have ever experienced something similar. Certain aspects of the movie are really too close to the truth to feel good. Either the author or someone in his knowing saw and experience something. This is too close for comfort!

And I love what they did at the end. This is EXACTLY what would happen. No questions at all. Pure and idiotic fact. Deal with it if you don't like the truth, that's what it is.

So this movie is a very disturbing experience for some serious people. For teens looking for boobs and sex, might as well watch one of those hand-held flicks, they're at your level.

To me the climate was quite good, a few slow moment of course but mainly a very entertaining movie. Than you very much!
