Well I'll give them this: The title was dead on.
9 November 2009
Warning: Spoilers
What I mean by that, is that this move WAS a disaster. So to call it Disaster Movie is completely suitable. But that's the only good thing I have to say about it. Now, I adore some of the actors in this movie. And I died a little bit inside because they can do SO much better. Now, my question is how did this movie ever end up in theatres? The best I would expect of it would be some MTV or MuchMusic movie that they played over the summer, but no.

I just hope that those two get expelled from the business. Personally, I really want to hear them justify their movies. I just don't get it. From the beginning there's a full minute scene in which a bad Amy Winehouse look-a-like just burps. How is that funny? It's not! Friedberg and Selzer, or whatever your names are: GROW UP! GROW A PAIR! And start making some really movies that are for people who aren't 12-yr-old boys sneaking a late-night movie behind mummy and daddy's back.

Don't expect a Grammy, but a Teen Choice Award or two.
28 July 2006
The problem is that most people go and watch this movie expecting a life altering experience. But in reality, it's a somewhat empowering girl movie. From start to finish it captures the laughs of the audience while giving the art of revenge a dramatic look. Although it a has a some what classic plot line, player plays girls and girls make him fall in love then break his heart to get even, it still adds quirks here and there to make a good teen comedy to watch at a sleepover or even with your mother. Oddly enough, if analyzed carefully, you can even detect a moral theme coming into play. But subtly enough to not "cheezy-up" the movie. As a teenager, I can say that a Teen Choice Award is on the way just for pulling out all the High School taboos and putting them in a movie. The thing about John Tucker Must Die, is that it's not meant to be a realistic or completely truthful movie: estrogen tablets will not make a guy into an emotional freak in one overdose. The important thing is to laugh out loud and enjoy what DOESN'T need a huge thought process.

13 Going on Boring!
12 July 2005
13 Going on 30 is a classic predict what's going to happen next story. This movie is a movie which could have been done in half an hour or less still maintaining all the ideas of the plot. Although the story itself isn't bad, its a fairy tale on which little children base their lives upon -- except somehow adult conduct and situations weasel into this movie. I believe that this movie is not worth 2 hours of a life. It's rather tedious and predictable but if you like that (as some do) I'm sure this movie will not disappoint. This movie is also another one of those movies where you think to yourself, "Oh no. She's not going to do that - will she? That's so stupid!" Some parts children may find enjoyable. However if you are a parent be warned that several parts of this movie are somewhat inappropriate of people of a young age. Overall, 13 Going on 30 is not a "must see" for any audience. If despite what I have said would like to see this movie by all means do so, but don't forget "I told you so!" (I go see bad movies too. Just so that I can criticize them.) ; )

The Magic School Bus (1994–1997)

Magic School Bus
30 June 2005
I used to watch the Magic School Bus and learned a lot from that program. I watched it when I was little and several segments were hilarious to me at that age. I still fall back on these tape to help simplify my knowledge when studying in high school. All those who say that this would never be helpful to children have problems of their own. Every person I've every known of who watched this series has found it useful and fun. Even my mother (52) watches it in her spare time. It's a helpful way to begin to teach more complicated science subjects to children. In my High school, the Graduates are required to watch one episode relating to the unit at the beginning of each unit. The Magic School Bus is useful and suggest to all parents to look into it to help commence some education in your child at a young age.
