Witty Humour!!!

I am a huge fan of Korean movies.However comedy(be it any sub genre) is not something you would want to get in too deep coming out from their neck of the woods. Koreans comedies are predominantly cheesy, clichéd,kiddish, frivolous and so on and so forth.

This movie for a change is a tad bit different and is not too bad.It starts of brilliantly.It has some really witty humor but you gotta keep your eyes moving. Reading the subtitles becomes strenuous and requires effort after a while which hampers understanding. The dialogues are spoken so fast,sometimes it is hard to keep track of what is going on... the lesser said about this movie the better.

A couple, A Casanova, Love!!!!Need i say more

6/10.Watch it if you have to kill time.

Handphone (2009)

Hero becomes the Villain!!!!

****may contain spoilers*** Yet another Korean thriller with a twist that will keep you gritting your teeth and your eye sockets plugged in for the long haul.

I thought the script was very well thought of with stress given to even minute details.(the window scene in the beginning where its broken, the very window he enters the house in the end.)

Well some might argue if the window was open, how did gas accumulate inside the house to be blown to bits....VALID POINT...Then again lets just speculate, Shall we!! and enjoy this thriller which Koreans are churning out like butter and thriller buffs like me are always happy to spread them and feast.The only downside of the movie was that it stretched for an extra 20 mins for what the plot panned out to be.

6.5/10.It will leave you in a deep vein of introspect.Can you trust anybody!!!

Midnight FM (2010)

Quality edge of your seat thriller..

I am a huge fan of the thriller genre, so it goes without saying am overly particular and highly critical about reviewing and voting for these films.It takes quite a lot to impress me to say the least.

Now lets see, first, for people who say this movie is mediocre, did you once take your eye balls away from the screen,even when you knew who the culprit was already.Yea that's what i thought.I don't know what you people look for when you go to watch a film. You cant expect all the films to be an old boy or a memories of murder otherwise their would not have have been an old boy now,Would There!!!

To give away the whodunnit factor in the beginning itself, which could have been a disaster and still make the movie as thrilling and interesting as it were just speaks volumes of this film.

7/10 A must watch if you are a thriller enthusiast like me.

Merantau (2009)

Continue the ass whooping!!

Well i saw the first part, The raid redemption.The obvious reason why i'm here writing this review... I really enjoyed it..The reason why it caught everybody's eye was the fact that it featured never before seen action sequences.It was hard to find any faults in the film.A film which will remain lodged in your brains forever if action is your genre. It was slam bam, no holds barred full on ass whooping.A total fix for any action movie junkies out there.

This movie more or less is the continuation of what they left behind for people who were still yearning for more.So COM ON then , come get your fix.However,like perpetually any other fix the first one was sweeter.

3-Iron (2004)

Originality and Simplicity Personified!!!

I think this is undoubtedly my favorite kim ki duks film.Its a masterpiece.Now leaving aside all the technical aspects.

It has a very ingenuous and a never before seen plot.Well i definitely have not seen it before..That my friends,should be reason enough for you to spend your time and money watching this film.I want to write this review without giving away too much but with this film it seems like writing a novel.A loner, an abused wife and a wealthy provocative husband comes an astonishing tale of epic proportions.

I rate this film 8.5/10...A MUST WATCH...kim ki duks done it again with his silent lead role.

Running Turtle (2009)

Entertaining film!!That's about it.

I recommend it for people who want to go easy with their mind and their eyes..A very easy viewing.If you want your mind blown this definitely isn't it.A very simple and predictable plot.Pretty much straight forward,not much there is to it.

Clichéd!!!!A cop(i don't know what to make of him)i will leave him to you guys for interpretations,a confused wife, a sweet kid who loves her daddy,a thief who is a martial artist with serious love issues and a mediocre police department who loves nothing but food...lol...Haven't we seen that in countless other police oriented films coming out from South Korea.It just makes you wonder if the coppers out there are really the way they portray them in their movies.I certainly hope not.

A turtle engages in a race with a deer(i figured the deer tattoo on his back represents that) and comes out victorious.Hence the name Running Turtle.

The Isle (2000)

A concoction of disturbed minds..

***SPOILERS**** I usually write reviews which are very simple and basic for people like me with not a lot of technical know how of cinema would understand.Various other aspects of cinema only critiques and hardcore movie buffs tend to comprehend are not our cup of tea.

That does not mean, we do not understand a good film. Quite honestly, i do not know what to make of this film,especially the ending.Its too deep and very ambiguous for my liking.

A fishing resort owner,a lady who apparently loses her husband looses all sense of belonging and living merely in existence finds hope and solace in a guest who has his own story.(left for countless other interpretation)A concoction of two disturbed minds with masochistic tendencies.

A lot of people out there might think the girl is really a mute. Mind you She is not.She chooses not to speak.It is just one of kim ki duks trademarks.Say nothing let the expression and the sound track do the talking

I rate this movie a 6.5/10.It takes you on a never ending tube to a persons disturbed psyche.I reiterate Never Ending..Not recommended if you are already stressed.
