Midsomer Murders: Hidden Depths (2005)
One of the best episodes of Midsomer Murders
This was without a doubt one of the best, if not the best, of the Midsomer Murders. A very original plot and revenge-driven murders. There are often villains who get murdered in Midsomer, but this time I even felt the satisfaction of seeing the victims get the payback they deserved. Indeed, each of them deserved their death for the insane crime of fraud against the murderer. The killing of Otto was especially original, unrealistic, but interesting and funny. Please note that I am talking about dark humor and I do not recommend watching this movie with children. Overall this episode was pretty tragic, I even felt sorry for the killer because the victims had ruined his life, but at least he managed to kill all 3 of them. It is cruel and inadequate, but on the other hand it is fair.
The Big Lebowski (1998)
This aggression will not stand
Excellent comedy. Be careful, because this comedy is not suitable for children. This is not a family comedy, there are scenes of violence and nudity. This comedy is full of great phrases and funny dialogues. Interestingly, you don't have to look for deep meaning, it's all about laughing. I like it when comedy doesn't try to delve into deep and complex philosophical or moral topics where it's not necessary at all. Most of the scenes in this comedy are funny in themselves, but even more funny if you keep the context in mind. Bright and amusing characters, absurd situations - all this is strongly reminiscent of one of the best comedies of all time "Dumb and dumber".
Midsomer Murders: Death's Shadow (1999)
Very good episode
I like scenery and sunny days in village and then dark nights, when murders are done. And those murders are unnecessary cruel and brutal. Exactly in the spirit of Midsomer Murders. The only thing I didn't like that fourth man of that gang of four wasn't killed. I think if other 3 got that fate, this one deserve it too. I really liked the ending when the suspect jumped out of the church tower in front of his wife's eyes. I think the boy's death could be considered suicide, because those 4 boys could remove the ropes from his hands and do everything to make it look like suicide.
Midsomer Murders: Echoes of the Dead (2011)
Ok at best
Unnecessary political correctness in liberals taste... The killer and murder motivations are ridiculously silly - something like psycho maniac. MM became quite bad since this season. With Tom Barnaby series were much better.
Poirot: Appointment with Death (2008)
Not an adaptation
Terrible! Made up stories and characters, weird motive and murderers. Have no idea why this is allowed to call "Agatha Christie's". Watch 1988 version with Ustinov instead.
Poirot: Taken at the Flood (2006)
Another false adaptation of the book
Adaptation is so wrong that it misses the point of book's title. If you call movie Agatha Christie then make it accurate with book.
Poirot: Cards on the Table (2006)
False adaptation
If you don't like original stories, do not pretend you "adapt" in movie by inserting Marxism stuff. Terrible!
