The Hollow Crown (2012–2016)

Worth all and more
30 March 2019
I recently purchased both seasons of The Hollow Crown and have yet to stop watching. I'm clean amazed at how deftly the actors chosen did play there part from the beautifully disturbed the King Richard 2nd to the amazing Hotspur. Moving on to the broken king Henry the 6th and deceitful and cruel king Richard the 3rd. being a Shakespeare fan I feel if " shake-Speare " had this kind of media do you think he would jump on it as he did his theater ? These play out like block buster movies packed with great actors, great director, oh of course and a great writer.

Great entertainment

I spend far too much time with my head in history so once in a blue moon it's fun to just sit back and watch a very well acted, outstanding costumes, backgrounds ect ... and I watch to this day. No it's not historically perfect but that's really not the drive of this colorful splendid miniseries. As with many great productions on film I find the level of graphic detail leaves nothing to my imagination and a sad comment on those who feel we now need to be fed a steady diet of it. But alas I am getting old it's a different generation.

Heartwarming

I found this mini series by accident and what a delight. From beginning to end I felt transported back in time. Throughout the series you get a slice perhaps, of a less sugar coated time of transition after the First World War. This story unfolds through the eyes of three close , but very different sisters and the surrounding family and friends. A sure bet .

Through a child's eyes

Spielberg I feel put it all out in this film. Who he is, and what he's not willing to compromise. The story, the beauty and horror in great scope through the eyes of a young lad. I get goosebumps and tears every time. So worth watching this sometimes forgotten part of ww2.
