Really good!
18 September 2023
I enjoyed the previous movies even if they had some problems, but this one is my favorite of the three.

Good atmosfere with horror elements and interesting characters that made this mistery an enjoyable ride. I liked that Poirot completed an ark started in the first movie.

Has a good pace, is well edited and with some good shots. There were a very few moments that the director chooses some weird shots that distracted me a little, but for the most part I think it works very well.

Hopefully Branagh makes more Poirot movies. I wonder what book he would chooses next, but I will definetely watch. :)

Still worth watching
24 April 2023
I had ups and downs with this movie, luckily more ups than downs. The beginning of the film was not very enjoyable, but it got more interesting as time went by.

The film is quite long, almost 4 hours long, it had some less interesting moments where I started to lose focus, but for the most part it flowed well and kept my attention. It would be possible to polish the dialogues a little more in some scenes, possibly just a few minutes less in total, but I think it would make a good difference.

Except for a few characters, the performances are very good, as is the soundtrack and photography. The technical quality of the film seems much ahead of its time.

It has some not-so-well-crafted or dated elements, especially the slaves, it's not something that bothered me too much (I've seen worse stereotypes of the time in other films), but it doesn't help either.

The ending I found a bit abrupt and I didn't think it ended well. And I don't say that just because it's an open ending, which I usually don't like, but I think something was missing for the conclusion to make more sense.

Didn't expect to like so much of this movie!
21 April 2023
The movie starts off a little slow and not that much engaging, but as it progress, it gets better and better. Some of the characters and situations I found quite interesting, and the film has some effective tense moments, but what is the main quality of it are the special effects and sets that are awesome, especially considering the time in which it was made!

It's not perfect, some characters weren't developed much or not explored enough, some scenes could have been a little bit better and the editing could have cut a couple seconds here and there, but in the end it still is a very good silent movie.

Too bad there's still a scene missing from the movie... :-(

Terrible ending
1 January 2023
I like whodunits and was enjoying this movie, but the conclusion I found terrible. I think the idea was to do a funny ending, but it was neither funny or makes sense to the story.

As a comedy I didn't find very funny, but, aside from the ending, it was an enjoyable watch. The passing is good and the movie has a nice length.

The actress do a good job with what they got from the script. The cinematography is very good and together with the sound make a very good atmosphere to this movie.

I gave this a 4.7 / 10. The script is not the strongest, but the only big flaw is its ending, but despite that, it was an enjoyable ride to me, minus the end of course.

A good, but short, documentary about Agatha Cristie.
26 December 2022
A little short perhaps, maybe could progress a little slower to show a little more and also to explain some details a little more in depth for the ones like me who are not very knowledge in all the Agatha Cristie's works.

However it is very interesting to have a look in how Cristie's mind worked, or at least how it seems to have.

One thing I'm not sure why is done that way, probably was for the commercials break, but this documentary is divided in blocks, and each block has a preview with scenes that are replayed later in the block and I didn't like that, seems to me as a little bit of filler.

Great atmosphere and interesting story
6 October 2022
With a flawed but interesting story, a great performance by Bela Lugosi (minus maybe a moment or two) and great atmosphere, I really enjoyed this movie.

The actors do a good job, and even if not all the characters had much screen time, they were somewhat memorable.

Both the direction and the cinematography are well made and the movie has very few humorous moments, which helps to keep a little bit of tension throughout the film.

There are a couple points that could have been better accommodated in the story and the ending leaves something to be desired with some details poorly explained, but despite that I found the experience to be very positive.

Good, but not great
7 March 2015
This movie has its charms, but some flaws too. The casting is excellent with some great performances specially Robin Williams, but the script needed some fixes, mostly in the last third.

Some of the songs are good, others OK, but none is bad. The side characters (the ones that are not in the cartoon) like the Olive family didn't add much to the movie. At the end there was too much characters and I didn't see why they were still there... In my opinion it would be better if they had less screen time.

Good movie, not a masterpiece as some says, neither awful as others says. It's worth a watch,

One time watch
28 February 2015
The movie is watchable, but not worth a second time in my opinion.

My main problem with the movie is Travis (played by Seann William Scott), he is very annoying which made me wish he was punched by The Rock every time he says or does anything...

Dwayne Johnson is great in the movie, the only problem I have is that there is little explanation about why he does not uses weapons. Christopher Walken is good as always, but didn't do much in the movie. The rest is okay, except by the supposed Brazilian people in the movie not played by Brazilian actors, but this will only be noticed by Brazilian people.

The action is okay if you don't mind some unrealistic moves, the jokes are week for the most part and the story is okay but the end makes no sense to me.

So long and boring
22 January 2015
It's not only a real bad adaptation of the comics, but is also there is noting good on this movie.

Its unnecessary long with pointless scenes and the "comics style" transitions just make even more pointless. The script has a lot of plot conveniences, and the Hulk growing as he gets more angry is stupid.

The first time I watched this as a Hulk fan a really hatted this film, but the second time watching just as a movie, it actually seems even worse.

There are very few things I liked in this movie, the Stan Lee cameo (as he seems having fun as always), the scene with Banner shaving in the mirror and the last minute of the movie. But these don't justify watching this movie.

Weak movie
22 January 2015
I remember watching this movie once when I was a kid, it was on TV and I "watched" while playing. Some days ago I was looking for something to watch on Netflix and found this movie, so I decided to re-watch this. I wasn't expecting much since some years ago I watched a negative review of this movie, but it was actually worse than I thought it would be.

The script is weak with the story having a lot of inconsistencies. The villains can travel really fast from one location to another and always know were to go. Captain America's powers seems to be almost nonexistent and he fails a lot in the movie. Also most of the action scenes aren't very good.

With that said, this movie is at least watchable. On the positive side the Red Skull make-up is very good and the Captain's uniform is very accurate to the comics.
