Predestination (2014)
This was crazy but great
Not usually a fan of time travel but someone reccomendee this as a mind blower and it certainly did just that. I'm going to watch this again as feel there was so much I missed first time around.
Elvis (2022)
Emotional but well told story
As a non Elvis fan I enjoyed the storytelling of Elvis's life and thought Austin Butler was brilliant in portraying him. Slightly confused about the Colonels accent though , Tom Hanks could've literally done his normal accent and sounded more like him and also didn't think modern rap songs sounded right.
Moneyball (2011)
A sports film with a difference
This is probably the best sports film for a non sports fan, really is an eye opener into the politics of sports and the dialogue is brilliant especially between Jonah Hill & Brad Pitt.
Hustle (2022)
Feel Good film
Found this a very entertaining feel good film and you don't even need to like basketball to enjoy it! I'm becoming a fan of Adam Sandler in these more serious films roles!
Good Time (2017)
Very intense
I really enjoyed this film, very original and well acted. The storyline is like a journey its completely normal to feel lost along the way, not the most complex ending but sometimes less is more.
The Lighthouse (2019)
Quite Mad
This was crazy, I didn't know what was going on or what was real and I still don't. But I actually liked it and couldn't stop watching. I appreciate it probably isn't for everyone but if you fancy something different I would reccomend. Oh and the acting is first class from Dafoe & Pattison.
Stay Close (2021)
Stick with it
I wasn't too impressed after the first couple of episodes , I thought it would be the same old crime drama. But I stuck with it and I'm glad I did so many twists & turns with a good ending.
Captain Marvel (2019)
Awful
Awfully bland film very boring storyline, thought I was watching Men in Black at one point. Skip this film if you're doing a marvel marathon , only reason it gets a 4 is because of Nick Fury.
Thor: Ragnarok (2017)
Felt like a Parody
Got pretty sick of the constant gags and how unserious it was, I get it's a MCU film and supposed to be fun but this was really over the top. Storyline bored me about half way through and feel like they destroyed the scariness of Hulk. Really don't understand the high ratings , personally my least favourite Marvel film.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (2017)
Good Fun
Once again, good fun from the guardians of the galaxy. I enjoyed it although I don't think it was as good as the last film. Found the second half of the film wasn't as strong as the first half. But the soundtrack was even better than the last !
Doctor Strange (2016)
Marvel Film with a difference
First off I'm going to start by saying I'm not a huge fan of magic & mysticism but wanted to see the origin of Doctor strange after watching Avengers etc. So with that in mind I thought it was better than I expected. Cumberbatch is literally Dr Strange , don't think they could of casted it any better there.
As for the film itself , I thought it was weird and wonderful in the right ways. Felt a bit like Marvels version of the Matrix at times but I would recommend watching if you want a Super hero film with a difference.
Captain America: Civil War (2016)
Does the job
Don't really see this is a Captain America film, more of an Avengers film that acts as a linkup. More political than usual but still found it entertaining enough & nice to see Black panther and spider-man enter the MCU.
Ant-Man (2015)
Just ok
Personally not a big fan of the character and think the film is stuck somewhere between a comedy and action film. Not sure what it was but the usual Marvel formula didn't work on me in this case. Ok watch, but wouldn't watch again.
Guardians of the Galaxy (2014)
Good fun from start to finish
Although probably not the best Marvel film it definitely is packed full of fun with really likeable Characters , soundtrack is phenomenal. Oh and we also get to see our first encounter with Thanos so definitely worth a watch!
Hostel (2005)
Film of 2 halves
Film of 2 halves, thought the first half was a bit slow and some annoying characters made me forget it was a scary film. But once it got going was a decent storyline , with an intense last 45 Mins that I enjoyed. I don't usually watch horror/gory films but I'm glad I watched this.
Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021)
Nostalgic Masterpiece
By far the greatest Spider-Man film and by far the greatest marvel film ever made! This really isn't your typical overhyped superhero film.
I enjoyed absolutely every minute of it and was amazed at the writing of the storyline linking both past and present.
I really don't think they could of done it any better and the nostalgic feeling from The Green Goblin & Dr Octo back with the original actors is something I've never felt watching a film before.
Thankyou so much to everyone involved in making this. 10/10.
The Village (2004)
Good Concept
Sure this film has its flaws and I can see why the ending isn't in everyone's taste. But I think it's a good original concept that is worth a watch. Also the cast is very strong.
Till Death (2021)
Could've been worse
The Storyline is rather basic but it did have its moments of suspense that kept me watching. Some rather cheesy predictable moments and the acting by Megan Fox is just terrible stuff.
Sonic the Hedgehog (2020)
Very Enjoyable
Surprised how enjoyable Sonic the hedgehog was, packed full of fun. I have seen many video games turned into films that failed miserably but this is not the case here!
The Suicide Squad (2021)
Stupid Film
Made the first one look good in comparison, really unlikeable and plain stupid characters with a dull storyline. Did have its excitable action scenes that were well shot and a decent soundtrack to go with ,but other than that it was pretty bad.
Oh and Weasel was the highlight of the whole film.
Blue Story (2019)
Decent watch but sad reality of gangs
Not a bad watch, but acts as a sad reminder of the London gang culture that exists today. Also thought it could've done without the narrative rap scenes. If you don't like violent films this one's not for you.
Tomb Raider (2018)
Mindlessly Brain numbing
I didn't go into this with great expectations, but did expect an action adventure film I could zone out and watch, unfortunately that wasn't even the case.
The plot of the story just felt empty and I'm pretty sure was holed , so many pointless scenes and don't get me started on the 'villian'. It did show glimpses of going somewhere but would jump straight back on its hollowed, cliche track.
Assassin's Creed (2016)
So much potential...
After playing some of the assassin creed video games I thought a film had good potential . However the film draws short of any gripping storyline , despite actually having a decent cast. Fans of the game franchise, I would just stick to playing that rather than wasting 2 hours on a lacklustre film.
1917 (2019)
An epic & intense war journey
This film was visually epic and caught all the horrors of WW1. It's one shot filming only added to the intense journey we find ourselves on. I would say one of the best war films I've seen for a very long time.
