The universality of ostracism, and the affect of rejection
29 April 2024
Ostracism "affect" is not specific to a single community. No matter the community you belong to. Ostracism affect has a universal content, and an "after shock" mode, We all belong to a group, once we leave that group physically it doesn't mean we have left emotionally or culturally.

If you abandon your central functioning norm you'll need to replace it with something else, if you don't, that's when things may get really tough because of a profound "identity crisis".

For any of us, that's when things get very complicated.

Body and mind fear emptiness, along with the "nothing" that follows a sudden rupture. Equally the gilt that follows because we abandoned that significant other or others.

What we are next remains the most important question.

can't take the heat don't walk in the kitchen
8 April 2024
First of all, part one was pretty good, fast pace some talking , but not much, a fast pace movie I enjoyed, overall a very good movie.

The overall part 2 is boring not the actors fault though, rather it's the script that is dragging its feet nowhere because it's badly written so bad it becomes a snooze, at the end of the day it's boring and we've lost interest. Characters spend some much time talking philosophizing whining and complaining you wonder why a production would spend millions on such a badly written boring story. That's the trend these days, when a network wants to cut down expenses it's making characters blob to death.

Chalamet not my cup of tea in this part 2, he looks out of place, feels more like a choir boy rather than an action movie hero.

Part 2 misses the mark.

Alleluia this is America
15 October 2023
Some people think of Canada as a different country, but it is not, it is part of north america where we do tough business, and we know a good deal when we see one, That said that story is a good reminder of what America is all about.

In my opinion Jamie Fox is piercing that screen to touch us deeply.

If one day acting bore him Jamie can always turn to preaching, he would a fantastic preacher. I think Jamie acting is brilliant in this movie, so brilliant actually that he makes the story coming to life again, The movie is also a reminder that: yes America is a business country where you can make your dream come true, but it's also a reminder that some people may not have an opportunity to do that, and it is important that other people be there to protect them, and stand for them...Bravo.

What a spectacular beautiful movie
23 September 2023
Viva Michael Pena. One thing comes to mind, a true story is a true true you can't make it up, everything else becomes technicality.

Another thing to me it doesn't mater where you coming from because it's all about soul and tenacity and persistance and character, and I could go on and on, they are not enough movies like this one these days, it reminds us today, when we certainly do need it, what America is all about. Actors are wonderful, their acting is so transparent they have created a movie so real it seems we are living every second of their lives.

And of course I wasn't crying watching the movie, I got something in my eye.

Loved that thriller
27 February 2023
I like Adrian Broody for his unorthodox ways and place he has created in the movie industry. Here we have a movie with a real scenario no compromising waste of time, everything works in this movie, and the timing is amazing. Everything in this movie is right the acting the pace the colors the filming. The movie is so gripping, the medium slow progressive pace, the wait, make this movie even more nail biting, and in my view a chef d'oeuvre of the film noir genre.

It's the best crime action thriller I watched so far in 2023 and probably in 2022 at the exception of Nobody.

Adrian Broody is such a talented guy. Bravo .

Vini vidi vinci, I'm free
17 January 2023
Isn't after all what we all inspire to be, getting as close as possible to what we want to do, and be, and as far as possible from what we do not want to be, in this respect this series is a wonderful proof of that.

Beautiful series with a very authentic look on what it takes for many of us to achieve our goal, passion, courage, tenacity, persistence in front of a mountain of obstacles.

Life isn't a straight ride far from it; that story is all about that.

About the actors, they are all great they really feel the pain, the joy, the sadness, the strength. They live their characters and role with so much authenticity, this story could only felt real.

Narcissistic denial mix with a God complex
15 January 2023
I watch so many average series, but once in a while I just stumble into a master piece like Dr Death. Joshua Jackson acting mastery is nerve racking, revolting, sickening, which demonstrates how much he understands a very complex personality, and spit it out with great acting mastery. Not easy to recreate this type of really devastating mental pathology. The worst mix of narcissistic denial, and a God complex. What really is puzzling is that all along we don't know, is he a serial killer, or just a serial loser that just can't do it right?!

Captivating series, and a huge bravo to the entire cast, great show.

You want my advice
16 August 2022
Feels like a game show on TV where participants hunt for clues, and a prize money, The scenario is like "Frankenstein", it's all put together upside down. The main character is clueless, the daughter keeps whining for her daddy, the CIA goes to a fight not to fight, my advice, go get some delicious ice cream instead, true bore.

Yes and nope at the same time
6 August 2022
After rethinking that movie, I feel the need to change my review in addressing specifics.

The scenario is a big nope for me, now the sceneries, the effects, and the filming are breath taking no doubt, and Daniel Kaluuya intense acting style, a brilliant actor, is also saving the day.

The scenario neo realist, and pseudo intellectualistic mix with space animal aliens? Please give us a break, it's conjoncturel, boring totally vague, and uninteresting, so I won't be generous rating that movie. It needs a go back to think tank or the drawing board...It could have been a great movie.

Excellent mystery thriller
25 April 2022
With all the new woke culture too many scenarios are defying reality. I'm a big fan of Tyler Perry, and I'm glad he directed a good old fashion crime movie for Netflix.

Really enjoyed this mystery, reminds me of the 90s when they used to make complex interesting good mysteries. Good job...

If you have the whole afternoon watch this movie, a lot a chasing shooting screaming, but not much script though, today how you make a movie with no or little script ambulance is your answer, I still enjoyed a few moments here and there, not bad of a movie, could have been 90 mnt though, we would have got the point.

Not convinced, not the acting, but the script, it is boring, long conversations, not action, lethargic is the word, something in that movie is missing all along, and it's too bad because it could have been a great movie, so next time sorry.

They should watch kitchen nightmare, it would have been a good start.

Maggie Q should be the next James Bond, get rid of the old sac, she's beautiful funny with a lot of stamina.

Michael Keaton, he has made me laugh for the past 40 years, still perfect, he's the natural of the naturals, comfortable anywhere any role, brilliant...

With all the pretentious big productions falling at the depth of the Atlantic great abysses, this one deserve all my attention, laughs and thrill, 10.

Not disappointed at all
21 July 2021
Because I knew it was going to be a wash, the worst movie of 2021 so far pointless, and for real food and wine aficionados, laughable, the covid 19 didn't alter only our way of life, but for some of us their judgement as well, get vaccinated quickly ...

satan, devil, so many names, but to top it all there is quantum physics
15 July 2021
To be clear about the mini series, there is no satan, god or devil, there is only what people choose to believe and what they don't. Quantum astrophysics have demonstrated that the universe is so vaste beyond vaste, and vaste beyond exponentially vaste that believing in those things is just a deep state of ignorance, anyway, I liked the show until episode 7, it was a good mystery and a good thriller, then... anyway let's leave it to that...

done it, been there, and way better
14 July 2021
James Bond, Mission Impossible, Jason Bourne, Batman, that's just to name a few, but that movie doesn't even come close, 90% tech and action is ok, but if there is only 10% substance in a movie (and I'm being generous), considering what we are going through these days, hollywood could step up to the plate not manufacturing mediocre movies anymore instead of trying to make boring money makers, it would be a great service to humanity to balance let's say 50% substance, and 50% money.

Whining and dining
24 May 2021
Acting is what made me continue to watch. Actors, all of them are very good. I know this area very well, it's just breath taking. We actually rented a Mako boat right there at the beginning of that amazing bridge. The problem, flaws, so many flaws. Kevin is whining so much I wanted to slap him myself. And it's the "borracho" family here. I wonder who wrote those scripts. I always find interesting to see how much the writer transpire in its scenario, shows who the writer is, and here there's a clear lack of experience, but hey that's me.

Season 3 ending, not even worth mentioning.

a big boring flop
5 May 2021
Not particularly crazy about Dylan McDermott, but that's me, and it's not really the real problem in that new/old crime series.

The real problem is the concept. Spending an entire season on one single plot with the same vilain (not sure how many episodes are programmed), is totally obsolete especially if the plot is borrriiing, viewers get turned off fast and drop the show. At least that's what happened to me.

I really tried to hold on because I really enjoyed for many years Chris Meloni, but every time I start watching, I'm sorry guys, but it's a gigantic BORE, and I'm off watching something else.

Chicago PD and SVU are a better format because even if the story is boring it's only 40mns, so we will come back for the next totally different episode expecting a better script.

Organized crime is a bad strategy with very boring results...It's a wash.

Some marine species are smarter than many mammals, with a highly developed intellectual IQ, and a high level of emotional development.

I enjoyed very much James Reed philosophy of life and his adaptation to his environment.

His close relationship with the Octopus he developed was extraordinary.

The movie is very moving.

Bravo.

before and after Adriana's murder
24 April 2021
Warning: Spoilers
The greatest show ever in the genre no contest.

Until Adriana's murder you keep thinking, ok it's their way of life, after Adriana's murder you know they got to go, all of them... I also believe it's important not to confuse the mafia a small minority, and Italian Americans who built this country... Loved the show of course.
