They gave it a shot, I'll give them that. But it was just dreadful. Where to begin. Everything was too clean. I mean Spic n' Span clean. The time period depicted was dirty, filthy and disgusting, but that didn't get in the way of a clean movie set. Even the Cross they crucified Jesus on was brand new from The Home Depot. The prison cells were spotless, and even had a bed for poor Peter. Even the prisoners were clean for cryin' out loud! Even with all that cleanliness, you'd hope there would be some acting that was gritty, edgy....even something that resembled acting. No my friends, there was none to be found. A sanitized script played by sanitized actors doing their best to stay clean. It's a shame really. I have a fair bit of respect for John Rhys-Davies acting abilities. I have little to none for the vast majority of today's actors, (so-called) even contempt. As for the failure for this film, I blame the Director, the Script writer and the cleaning lady. (I'll be surprised if they recoup the 2.7 mil budget)

This Show Bugs Me ***SPOILER ALERT***

It's a little slow at times, and they go on tangents that don't seem fruitful, however, it ends up being all worth while when asked the eternal question: "...well why not take out a gun and shoot me right now!" The proof is in the pudding, or in this case, the brain matter on the wall.
Meanwhile, I've been informed, once again, by the genius's at the IMDb counsel on higher learning and wasted words, that my 10 line quota has not been met to their satisfaction. Is it possible someone somewhere is actually garnishing a paycheck for reviewing my post, to ensure the 10 lines minimum has been met? What kind of paycheck would that be anyhow, I wonder. Do they pay in American currency? In coupons from the local Starbucks or 7/11? I'm fascinated to know. Meanwhile I'll just keep on typing until my ten lines have been reached and ponder my futile existence on this...

They got paid money to do this. I mean actual American currency to make this so called movie. Ya know, I really hate Hollywood anymore. But on the other hand, I've always Hated Hollywood. They're so predictable, and this pretentious crap makes the point all the more glaring. Go on, watch it. Sit there in awe as Hollywood actors & directors come together to boggle your mind with mediocrity. Fortunately, and thank Heavens for torrents, I did NOT pay once cent toward this enterprise. The only consolation I take, is that on Judgement Day, Hollywood will burn in the lake of fire, along with this nonsense. Cheers! Well, Hollywood doesn't disappoint once again. With complete self - indulgence and CGI opulence, they destroy, what they could never conceive. They over-compensate, in the void of decent script writers, with predictable smarmy vomit, garnished lovingly with an invocation of rap, betwixt the 20's themed soundtrack.
Dreadful stuff. Thank God for fast forward & scene changer features. The only thing that surprised me was they didn't somehow incorporate Zombies into the story-line. After all, why not? Who cares? Warner Bros. picks up a tidy $375 Million + in world wide distribution, the culturally indoctrinated get their mind candy and F. Scott Fitzgerald gets to roll over in his grave once more.
Of all the mysteries in this world of confusion, I am continually stymied as to why the ISIS & al-Qaeda types, have not 'yet' targeted the global center of debauchery. Not that I wish them any harm, but at least they might get a script out of it, worthy of their ineptitude.
ps. I really miss guys like Alfred Hitchcock & Victor Fleming

Greetings, first review in years. And it's a bomb. What can be said? Oh, I know! Lets make a movie, we'll steal every cinematography trick that Lynch used complete with vintage clothing & lackluster intensity and call it...who cares what they call it, it stunk. I feel bad for Abigail Breslin however. Promising career, with this tumor hanging around her neck. I guess I can't blame her, after all...it's all about the money.
ps. Hollywood is so completely out of ideas, that it pleases me regularly to not pay one red cent to watch any of their garbage. Thanks KickAss Torrents!
