The Flatshare (2022)
Refreshing and easy to watch
I finished a whole season in one night.
Amazing acting, great chemistry and overall visuals.
Actually a realistic story from the whole co-living situation that many of us have experienced to the intimate scenes where there is some goofiness around. This is real life.
I loved all characters and no-one was redundant.
Fun story and not too predictable. The older gay couple was a beautiful side story.
Enjoy the series! Not explicit scenes to feel uncomfortable with, you can watch this with your partner or friends.
The lead character is as always breath-taking and has a talent in showing emotion effortless. I have seen her in plenty movies and series and she always delivers.
LOVED IT.
Rosaline (2022)
Fun to watch
I like how there was a twist in the original story. It is actually a pretty tragic one but this movie made it a fun one to watch with a happy ending.
I LOVED the costumes and colors chosen. The sceneries were all mesmerizing and the acting fantastic. The lead character (Rosaline) she was AWESOME. Beautiful cast.
The soundtrack was modern but adapted to that era. Pretty cool.
In addition, there was some funny and goofy scenes which made me laugh.
Once more, the clothing for both men and women was accurate based on Italian fashion of the era, the castle even the doors were also similar to that era and the whole vibe overall.
GOOD MOVIE TO PASS THE TIME AND HAVE A LAUGH :)
Kynodontas (2009)
Shocking yet interesting
I have to admit.
Some scenes are shocking.
The self-harm?
The sex scenes? Especially, the one where we see the actors really touching each other explicitly.
However, it is a masterpiece of allegory and meanings that we don't usually talk or think about.
Human nature is complex, and this movie explores all this complexity.
For those viewers who like fast movies, it is not for you. The lobster takes its sweet time.
Beatriz at Dinner (2017)
An absolutely relevant movie
This movie successfully depicts the feeling of being authentic in a world full of fake, superficial, self-entitled humans.
The ending however was very disappointing. It seemed not well-thought.
I felt that no matter how Beatriz was depicted (soft or harsh), she would have lost this battle. Indeed. Yet, she could instead leave that house, make a whole campaign against the rich guy and publicly deteriorate his status quo, instead of having the end that we all saw.
Here's my 5 cents.
I'm Your Woman (2020)
Excellent movie
I personally enjoyed this movie to a great deal! I felt as a woman what a young mother could have felt of that period of time with a child, living in an insecure present, with no financial or emotional support from anyone. Initially, she seems insecure, weak and stuck in a relationship which only trouble has brought to her. Eventually, as the movie continues, we see the lead character's powerful side unveiling. I loved the scene where she is holding her baby's shoe in the disco club, reminding us her purpose in finding the truth and escaping from the crazy mafia that is after her. About the other woman, I loved her persona. She is badass and helps our lead character find her inner power. All characters are interesting and compelling to watch. Loved all the 1970s details on the carbon box (eggs, shops, even diapers packages of the time). Great movie for those who don't want an easy and quick fix but instead a movie to understand in a deeper level and connect with the characters.
Uncle Frank (2020)
I cried a whole a lot
This movie depicts the real agony of coming out to your family.
Has great actors and is directed beautifully.
I cried very much throughout the movie. But, at the end I got this sense of hope and happiness with the outcome.
Strong scenes and great soundtrack.
