Spirited (2022)
I was gonna say 4 but remembered Patric Page.
I had never heard of this movie. I am a fan of both leads so I was surprised at how much I didn't enjoy this film. Every song sort of registered as the same one to me besides good afternoon. Most of the jokes were telegraphed from a mile away, as were some big plot beats. I'm sure some will find this movie to be very fun and charming. This movie wasn't for me. But Patric Page from hadestown let me geek out for a bit. Very glad to see him.
This felt like a movie by committee. Every plot point felt like an amalgamation of 20 different ideas. I think this could have been a much more focused story.
Good on Paper (2021)
For the Fans
Understanding Ilizas specific comedic tone is integral to enjoying Good on Paper. I love Iliza and her work and I've heard her tell this story a few times on her podcast. So finally seeing it exaggerated on screen was a treat. This flick isn't the neatest and the cracks in the script start to show in its third act. Iliza is absolutely a leading lady and getting revenge on a lying ex by making a movie about them should be celebrated.
The Mandalorian: Chapter 6: The Prisoner (2019)
Oh come on...
What's happening to this show, you guys? This was a power rangers level travesty. I hated it. Where are we going? What's the point of this? Is it supposed to be bad?
