Ryde (2017)
Excellent horror!
If you are looking for a great nighttime horror flick this is a highly recommended movie for you! Unlike many horrors, its script is not filled with cliché jump scenes, but it is a very cleverly written story, beautifully directed by Frank Visciglia. There is a lot of suspense that will keep you at the edge of your seat, and I must mention the music which accompanies the movie perfect. I loved the acting, the young actors did a good job, especially Jessica Serfaty whose portrayal of Jessica was powerful and convincing. Overall I would recommend it to all the horror fans looking for a refreshing movie in the genre.
Pali Road (2015)
Love can not be ignored
Lily is a young girl who survives a car accident and wakes up confused, married for a man she doesn't love and having a son she can't remember. Although her husband is not completely unknown to her, according to her memories, she has a boyfriend Neil, who is a doctor, and her current husband was actually his rival. But what complicates the situation is that even her parents are saying that her memories are not real, and a consequence of trauma after the car accident. Everyone around are trying to convince her, that Neil is a product of her imagination. The movie was an exciting ride, a clever and unpredictable romance with some elements of thriller, where it was hard to know the truth until the end. The acting was spot on, the story believable and I got very emotional at the end. I give this movie a strong 9!!
Pixies (2015)
Pixies are Back
The Pixie's movie is very different from other comedies because pixies are almost never introduced in these stories. Mythical creatures being introduced into the everyday world makes a very interesting film. Watching it is not only a fun experience, but also a very educational one. The colors and graphics were very good and done by someone with great drawing skills. The other typical comedies that people see are usually done by badly with poor aesthetic quality. There could have been a faster pacing of events though and I don't think that this was done as well as it could have been. The movie beginning is not thrilling enough though and I wish that it were more filled with action. Instead we get a man named Joe Beck waking up in the morning still feeling drowsy. So that is what should have been changed to hook the audience in right away the moment the story starts.
Olympus: Daedalus (2015)
Greco Disappointment
I admit that this episode was good but it didn't live up to my expectations. I thought that after the initial fiasco of the first episode that this one might just be a faint glimmer of hope. All I will say is it was okay nothing more. There was more action which was a big thumbs up. However the same detrimental cast remained throughout the whole episode which is no surprise to me. If I were the filmmaker I would throw out the script altogether and start off with something new. In essence a clean slate because I don't think that many people like this lame TV show anyway. However out of respect for the fans of Olympus I would say that they should do just one more season so as not to disappoint those who like it. I mean I know what it's like to get attached to a favorite TV show and how hard it is to let go of it for good. I don't like anything about this show except the fact that it has a Greek mythology theme. I would still watch the rest of the first season though just to see if it's worth considering for a second season. You never know.
Olympus (2015)
Olympus is a Greek Myth Fan's Dream
Well to begin with I am not a fan of Greek myths or Greek-based TV shows or movies. However I must say that this is still a pretty good Greek myth-based drama. On the downside though I have to comment that the action sequences were pretty poorly designed, because they had hardly six characters partaking. What I do have to congratulate the cast, and the actors and actresses on though is that the performance was first- rate and quality. There is no denying that the performance was not delivered with a solid masked face, but there were real emotions being channeled through the characters eyes and facial expressions. Sometimes I just wish that the material would have been better so that the actors could have had better scenes, but in general the brilliant acting makes up for all the other missing bits and pieces. I didn't like Greek myth- related movies and TV shows before but now after seeing this first episode I simply can't wait to watch the rest. The costumes and set design was pretty nicely done, and thumbs up to the organizers for that one. To be fair it's a lot of good material for a TV series, specifically one based on the Greek myths, and I would recommend it to everyone. From all the TV shows I watched I can't recall the last time I saw one based on the Lexicon that leads to everlasting life, and for me this is a first. The plot is one of the most captivating ones I have ever heard of, with a hunt for a sacred object the Lexicon that will lead to eternal life and give the holder the power of a god.
