King the Land (2023)

Classic boy meets girl story

I'm still on episode 8, but this is a sweet quirky story of boy-meets-girl Cinderella story. It's lighthearted, quirky, fun. Well acted, he stares at her... music... she stares at him... music. He's the knight in shinning armor, classic prince that wants to rescue his princess. Fun story that makes you forget about the world. It gets better and better with every episode. I like it because it's lighthearted. No trauma, no who's gonna get slashed in half this week. Really light comedy. I have worked in retail and hotels and I can relate to some of the plotlines. Easy to enjoy. This is an old school romance story.

Guillermo del Toro's Pinocchio (2022)

Reminds me of Studio Ghibli movies

Really impressive animated movie. It reminds me of Studio Ghibli movies such as Grave of the Fireflies or Nausica. If you enjoy those films, you will like this one. The characters are well-developed, interesting plot and twists. Not like the Disney version. Well executed animation, I would not be surprised if this one wins the Best Animation Oscar. It is obviously darker than regular Disney movies. It is more similar to Japanese Anime movies. Good movie for all ages. Guillermo Det Toro proved once again that he's a great director. Looking forward to see his next projects very soon. Merry Xmas!

Why there's no picture of the black actress?

Spanish TV is well known for not being inclusive and not including people of color in their telenovelas , movies, or media in general, especially as main characters. Now, there is a Black protagonist and I browsed IMDB to find info on who she is and there's no picture of her!

Encanto (2021)

It's a beautiful movie for people who appreciate Latin culture

The story is the same old same old princess journey and find your inner strength, but it's really beautiful, charming, colorful, and enchanting. A must-see. Bilinguals can understand this better.

The dubbed voices don't match the characters

The dubbed voices don't match. The 3 girls are supposed to be 14yr olds and they sound like 30yr old women. I watched the 24 episodes, none of the problems were solved. The bad guy, Kirinmaru, is not even close to how evil was Naroku. I had the hope that the show was going to get better, or solve anything, but it didn't.

He's All That (2021)

It's ok for 12-yr old girl

I've seen tons of teen movies over the years, but this one is terrible. Addison is a terrible actress and worse as a dancer. I'm glad Rachel Leigh Cook got a paycheck after a while, but this movie is bad. The first one, She's All That, is corny but cute and funny, but this one, really bad. Maybe 12-yr olds would enjoy it. But, parents, beware: it will show young teens that it's ok to do drugs, drink, and have sex.

This is a teen flick for 50-yr olds Gen Xers who Watched Bill & Ted in their teen years. This is not ab Oscar winner movie, but this is just to sit down and have fun during hard pandemic times.

Fun movie for the family

This is a fun novie for the family. It's kind of "Despicable me" fun, not "Zootopia" or "The Incredibles" fun. I enjoyed it. Maybe because I'm a Gen X and I enjoyed watching some of my old 80's Saturday Morning cartoon characters with a makeover. Not just Scooby Doo and friends, but Blue Falcon, Dynamutt, and hints of more movies with Hannah Barbera characters. Millenials won't recognize these characters, but this movie is for Gen Xers and their young children or grandkids.

I love this show. It talks about serious issues without being extremely corny. This is like Fuller House for a more mature audience. I have felt identified with many of the characters.

The subtitles were not that accurate. Bilingual people will enjoy it the most. Jaime Camil is excellent on his role. Funny, lovely, amazing actor. Fun movie to have a good time with friends.

Sweet rom-com

I had to rewatch the original movie and this is not a remake of it. But, it's a good show, smart and witty. This is not a comedy like "Friends", where you expect a punchline and laughs in the background. The jokes are cleverly inserted in the dialogue.

Veronica Castro was the biggest Mexican telenovela star from the late 70's to the 80's. I was so thrilled to see her on a Netflix show, so I have to watch it. I grew up watching her telenovelas, and she's still an amazing actress. This series is the typical telenovela, with family secrets, the ultra rich, the poor, lies, etc, but with more 2018's themes.
