Star Trek: Picard (2020)
Wokeness & politics killed Picard's legacy
The first season was OK but nowhere near Star Trek Discovery.
The second season of Star Trek Picard is just horrendous.
I turned it off after a few episodes and I have no intention of ever returning to this politicized, woke crap.
If this is how Patrick Steward wants to be remembered, I feel sorry for him as he won't go out in style like Gene Roddenberry.
I've seen C-level series that had better storylines and better acting than this.
Two thumbs down.
Top Secret UFO Projects: Declassified (2021)
Most horrible editing I've ever seen.
I can't understand how Netflix even dares to attach its name to this absolute drivel.
The editing is horrible, visuals look utterly childish, image quality is poor, it lacks coherence and is an insult to one's intellect. The studio that created this has not the slightest idea about who their audience is as evidence from this tepid mix of every possible piece of outlandish imagery or could find and lacking clear format or style.
I'd much rather watch reruns of 10 year old UFO related shows than this "Netflix Original Series".
The only thing original about it is the absolute new low it sets for a series covering such a serious subject.
Who signed off on this?
The Secret of Skinwalker Ranch (2020)
Too many stones left unturned...
This show took me some time getting used to. It sometimes felt a bit too much like one of those reality tv contestant matches, with the owner flying in with the helicopter, the shiny suitcase, the flashy car, the distant "hello gentlemen" conversations, making it feel like an exaggerated ego trip instead of a real investigation series.
It has gotten better, though it would be better for someone so interested and invested in the property to also be on-site more often. All that apparent excitement is a bit lost.
Having said that, I do look forward to the rest of the investigations and a second season.
Spoiler alert coming up!
What I do hope is that the investigative work improves. Too many incidents seem to be left not fully investigated.
- The cave billowing cold air for instance. How hard could it be with those resources to send cameras and miniature rovers/drones in. If not battery packed, then at least analogue with cables feeding to a recording unit on top of the ridge?
- Similarly with the UV beam of light. From the camera angle it should be clear and easy to locate where it is coming from. Lead a search expedition to see which possible caves there are that the beam of light can be projected from.
- The attack of the Alpaca. While the ranch caretaker saw the attacking animal, no attempts were made to really identify it, either by creating sketches or comparing it with photos of animals that may match the description. Why not attach a bio tracker to some of the animals too to see if they are in distress? Maybe even equip them with a camera?
- The well. Why not have a constant meter over there that registers ionizing radiation so it can be tracked how often it occurs?
- The basement. What about sending those remains to a lab to see if DNA can determine what animal it is from? Also why not mention the possibility that those remains or that ritual took place there possibly before that room was sealed up. That would explain why it is undisturbed.
Often it feels like this is just a sensational docu-soap instead of a real investigation. This seems to be a place that warrants something more thorough. Let's hope it gets better so we can have real knowledge of what takes places there, even if the explanations turn out to be mundane.
Stranger at the Pentagon (2013)
Story can be summarized in 1 minute.
No matter how little it cost ($25,000), this is just plain awful. OK, you got the story out but wait, what story. There isn't even a proper ending. The credits took up 2/3rds of the full time. There simply isn't a story there. It would have been better to make a 10 minute documentary instead of trying to make a movie out what isn't really well, anything. This almost looks like a mockumantary. Deeply disappointed. Keep the $5 and buy a copy of "The hero's journey" to improve your skills. Plain horrible.

Looking forward to season 2!
Well-produced, interesting new information that builds each episode. More interesting than standalone investigations. I'm looking forward to a season 2.
