Sound of Metal (2019)
This is not a fair criticism of this movie.
I knew absolutely nothing about this going in. It's touching and full of talent. It is a good film. I have to say that this would have made an excellent horror movie. It could have shifted anywhere after 45 minutes in and taken a turn in any direction. Not that anything different would have made it better for anyone else but me. I told you this was unfair.
Vivarium (2019)
If you don't care about why
It's a nice, simple movie with interesting visuals and creativity. No regrets.
Snatch (2000)
If Tarantino was British
And if he wrote Oceans 11. It's a lovely movie that I have recommended many times. It also has good time period music but doesn't feel dated. I'm writing this review 20+ years after release. You're welcome.
The Unloved (2009)
Feels.
Almost the British Florida Project. Good music choices. I'm a fan of the extended closeup without dialogue, and Molly Windsor was able to convey so much with her eyes in many of those. Recommend.
Destroyer (2018)
Worth 2 hours of your life
Everyone saying this is slow and confusing is just not a fan of human drama. It's not my favorite Kidman film, but it does flow, the timeline is not confusing, and the end ties things up nicely. Liked it.
The Florida Project (2017)
Ouch
I just got my heart ripped out. The end is painful and brutal and soul sucking. I'm actually editing this review 10 hours later. I fell asleep thinking about this film and I woke up thinking about it. Bria Vinaite was truly amazing and Brooklynn Prince will make you feel some stuff. A work of art.
Krisha (2014)
Real
I agree with the previous reviewers who said this movie was too real for some. It's difficult, but it's worth it. I didn't know until after I watched it that it's a Trey Edward Shults film. I'm a fan of It Comes at Night and can't wait to see Waves.
It Comes at Night (2017)
If you can watch this movie on prime, do it.
Unless you like being spoon fed a movie plot, are super goal oriented, or are looking for a conventional horror film, you'll like this movie. It's an intense ride. I probably would have paid to rent it, but if it's free you have absolutely nothing to lose.
Await Further Instructions (2018)
Watch this.
No expectations and you will be smiling at the end.
