Uncle Tom (2020)
It's always good to listen to both sides!!
Everyone has their own narrative and everyone has their own agenda. That is a fact. It's ever so important to listen to both sides and then to make an informed decision. The problem in todays world is that we tend to, by default, listen to and believe only one side of the story. This documentary does an excellent job telling the other side of the story while remaining objective. It's an eye opener for sure.
In the Same Breath (2021)
Propaganda galore!
Don't be fooled by the synopsis. It does start off with Chinese cover ups but quickly becomes a political propaganda.
The Social Dilemma (2020)
Starts off informative but then ironically turns into propaganda.
The first half was quite informative when it discusses the negative effects of social media and its actually quite an eye opener. But then it takes a tragic turn when it pushes government propaganda to discredit anything that's not mainstream media as "fake news." It also makes people who are anti-vaccine, anti-5G, or anti-anything look like lunatics. But done very cleverly and I can see why so many people are falling for it.
Archive (2020)
WARNING DO NOT BELIEVE THE HYPE!
Do yourself a favour and save almost 2 hours of your life that you will never get back. And don't be swayed by the other good reviews, they are all based on the final 5 minutes of the movie that has a surprise twist. If I had the power to delete parts of my memory then I would definitely delete the 2 hours I spent watching this. But I can't so I will just have to Archive this movie deep down in my memory and pretend I didn't waste my time watching it! (Pun intended)
The Bible vs. Joseph Smith (2010)
Not from an objective perspective
The first 20 mins was enough to tell me this is in no way an objective "documentary." The major flaw in this is that it claims very early that no original manuscripts written by ancient prophets of Book of Mormon exists on earth so it must be false. However on the other hand, no original complete manuscripts of the Bible exists today so just like the Book of Mormon, we can't compare it to its original source. The other thing that got me is that the film maker interviews experts to prove the authenticity of the Bible, however when it comes to the Book of Mormon, just someone who's been a member of that religion for a long time and not a Mormon scholar or religious professor! This COULD have been a great documentary but unfortunately turned out to be very one sided with what seems to be anti-Mormon propaganda.
Underwater (2020)
Go in with zero expectations and you will enjoy it.
I read the negative reviews and decided to watch it any way. I had my guard up at first (because of the negative reviews) but to be honest it was quite enjoyable. I thought the movies in general wasn't bad. I personally don't like comparing it to other movies mentioned in other reviews but if you have nothing else to watch this one is pretty enjoyable and not as bad as what others have made it out to be.
