Amish Haunting: Pilot: Faceless Doll/The Witch's Grave (2014)
Anyone who has lived neat the Amish..
Knows that children cannot have dolls with faces. I call silly buggers on this one.
Ma (2019)
Not bad
It was well-acted, I was very impressed with Octavia Spencer, never seen her in a role like this before. Could have speeded up the pace a bit, but overall it was good
Lore (2017)
Loved season 1
I don't love season 2. It's unwatchable. Gave up a few minutes into episode 4. Hope the creator/producer reads these reviews!
Perry Mason (2020)
Nope nope nope
That is not only not Perry Mason, it's not Paul Drake. Horrible.
Mary Queen of Scots (2018)
At least I'm not the only one who hates this type of casting!
Seriously... Bess of Hardwick was a redhead. Lord Randolph was white. Mary Stuart was almost 6' tall. I'm so tired of these idiot directors who think they have to add every race into a historical film, even when it isn't the way it was!
I don't know why I watch what passes for historical today, it always infuriates me *sigh*
Yes, see Glenda Jackson as Elizabeth R. And Keith Michell as Henry VIII, his performance was amazing, and he was actually aged properly!
The Spanish Princess (2019)
I wish they'd stop ignoring facts in these dramas!
1. Catherine did have red-gold hair, most likely inherited from her Plantagenet bloodline. Her great-grandmother, Catherine of Lancaster, for whom she was named, was the daughter of John of Gaunt and Constance of Castile. John's father was Edward III.
2. Her chief lady-in-waiting, and close friend was a Spanish noblewoman, María de Salinas, who married William Willoughby, 11th Baron Willoughby de Eresby. She was the only friend who was with Catherine at her death, according to legend she forced her way into Kimbolton Castle after being denied permission to visit, and I have no reason to doubt that was true.
3. She may have brought a group of her African attendants with her but none would have been a lady in waiting.
4. She *was* accompanied by her duenna, Elvira Manuel, who supervised her Spanish retinue. The woman famously refused to let Catherine go out without a heavy veil completely covering her face. She even tried to stop Henry VII from seeing her!
I could not watch this for even part of an episode, much like that awful "The Tudors". Ugh.
Xena: Warrior Princess: Altared States (1996)
Shark jumped
And this is where they went wrong. Not only the ark, but "god" speaking? Not in a bloody show in this time frame, thank you.
Dragonlance: Dragons of Autumn Twilight (2008)
Not worth the rental. Ever.
I have to agree with the part about Fizban *sighs* Of course they lost me when Kitiara jumped off a ledge and turned into a dragon?! Gahhhh! I only rented this in hopes that *maybe* it wouldn't be too bad. I should have known better, I really should have *sighs* Also, it was very jarring to me that the "monsters" looked more like CGI then animation. I think if they'd done like say Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow, it would have been a lot easier to watch, even though they did totally mess up the story.
Of course it would have to have been more than one movie to satisfy those of us who hate seeing deviations from the original books.
Added.. Tokonomo, I said Kitiara, not Tika. I am well aware of who is who in Dragonlance.
