You People (2023)
Comedy Romance Love it!
I am not sure why people rated this film so low. It is a COMEDY romance. I laughed and I loved the romance. Even though this is a film it depicted real things that happened in inter racial relationships. I think the story was beautifully told and Despite the propaganda that is told about black people I am glad that love can conquer all negativity. I am not sure what people are wanting these days from movies to have rated this movie so low. All the actors did a wonderful job. The actors made it seems like every day real people. This movie came across relevant, informative and heartwarming. Bravo.
Gossip Girl (2021)
Gossip Girl and too Much SEX!
I don't understand the overrated sex plots and sex scenes. These are suppose to be 15 to 17 year old high school students, however this show is displaying all types of sex. Sisters dating the same guy, same sex and threesomes. Not to mention all the alcohol drinks, out in the streets late at night on a school night. I could go on and on. I don't understand Hollywood. The storylines aren't so bad but this is too much for supposedly teenagers. It's sad that so many shows incorporate all types of sex portraying teenagers. Sex is not only physical but it is spiritual. I am disappointed that our society has made sex a casual pastime.
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever (2022)
Family of Four
My spouse, daughter and myself rated this movie between 8.5 and 10, however my son rated the movie a 5. My son (17) didn't like the storyline with the young scientist. He felt as if her acting was forced and he didn't like how the storyline regarding the Namar was introduced. I understand my son's Point of View, but Considering everything surrounding this movie, the death of Bosman and the rewrite of the script and this is for entertainment, I give it a 10. I was truly entertained and emotionally moved by this movie. I loved how the movie ended with an offspring of the Black Panther (T'Challa). Can't wait for the next movie.
Passing (2021)
Claire Claire Claire Claire Claire
Not only was Claire passing for white, she seemed to be having an affair with Irene's husband Brian. Brilliant movie. Nicely done. Ten across the board.
Dad Stop Embarrassing Me (2021)
50/50 Split down the middle
Ok y'all. I get the negative reviews, however since it's Jamie Foxx, and David Alan Grier I watched all eight episodes and gave it ten stars. These are the things that where over done and too many of to me: Impersonations of celebrities, Jamie Foxx playing other characters such as the preacher, brother, bartender, etc. And why why the typical stereotyping of the different races and the raciest innuendos that were supposed to be jokes. I laughed and cringed. Lunell in the first episode was great.
The Real Housewives of Atlanta (2008)
Bring back the laughter!
I came on IMBD to find out which episode featured Cynthia's bachelorette party. There are mix reviews about the episode. The show had become depressing so I stopped watching. I might try to watch the bachelorette party episode.
Bridgerton (2020)
Enjoyably Entertaining
For people who gave this series a low rating because they didn't agree with the diverse cast due to the time period, era or etc., please relax, no crime has been committed. It's just TV. This series has drama, romance, and comedy. Simply Entertaining. If you can't get pass the diversity and etc., then you will not be entertained because your stuck in your head to busy comparing your perception of reality to a romance book series or TV series.
I remembered my mother watching the movie "Imitation of Life" when I was a child, and I remembered not fully understanding the movie until I watched it again at an older age. Being at an older age I also understood that Prejudice and racism didn't allow for a biracial black woman to play the role of a biracial black woman passing for a white woman instead they gave the role to a white woman. However I did understand as a child that the character was crying about her mother. If I understood that as a child, then what is It in the year of 2020 that people can not watch a show with diversity and etc.
"Bridgerton" was truly entertaining.
