Narcos (2015)
Not accurate with historical facts and Main Characters Accents
In regards with Season 3 of Narcos.
It's a very well made production. Hollywood style as can be.
But for me, having lived through it all in my hometown. It is a real shame that all historical facts and characters are distorted and certain situations are mixed up with others or plainly did not happened just for theatrical purposes.
Also, I can't understand why all main characters are foreign. Speaking with Mexican, Puerto Rican, Spanish and Venezuelan accents. Especially David,Miguel son who's name was changed. The actor is from Guatemala and speaks way too Mexican. This is laughable.I hope in season 4 in Mexico the main characters are from Colombia. Following the tradition of Pablo Escobar's actor (Moura) seasons 1 and 2 being from Brasil.
If all of this aspects where covered, I would have rated the series a 9/10.
30 for 30: The Two Escobars (2010)
A True Portrait
I don't know how the Zimbalist brothers managed to portray with such perfection the truth behind the last thirty years of Colombian history, they did an outstanding job. I really felt moved watching this documentary made for the ESPN series 30 for 30. It reflects all the pain and suffering mixed with the joy for the game of football (soccer)and the wonderful team of players we had at that time, the best ever. It shows the good and the evil, the yin and yang of human nature in the symbol of such wonderful man as was Andres Escobar and the ruthless evil figure of Pablo Escobar also shown to have a good side. This was captured in a very objective manner again a wonderful job by the Zimbalist brothers. Although being from Colombia, some of the stories told in the documentary were just gossip to me at the time but watching it, confirms all of it as true, a sad but true episode that we still carry to this day.
