It spits in the face of the past movies plotline.
7 September 2020
Warning: Spoilers
I'm a fan of Bill & Ted, I grew up watching those films and I still love their prior movies even to this day. But this movie just couldn't live up to those past movies for me.

Was it as Goofy as the past movies? No, it wasn't. They did try to mimic the style of the past movies with a prime example being a robot called "Dennis" but it just ended up being cringy.

Did it follow the plotline of the past movies? Yes... up to a point. The main character are no longer the saviors of the world with the power of their musical capabilities. Instead they became as the movie states themselves "losers with no job" and not only that but in the end they revealed that they never even made the song or put the band together, their children did.

Who were the saviors then? Their daughters which the movie focused around for more then half of the film. The daughters character were fine and resembled how Bill & Ted are suppose to be portrayed but making them the saviors of the world instead of the Bill & Ted just spits in the face of the previous movies plotlines.

I can no longer enjoy the past movies knowing that in their world our 'heroes' bill and ted become 'losers' and never end up saving the world. So for the sake of the plot and my own enjoyment, this movie is not canon.

An interesting take on the fantasy genre.
28 March 2020
This series is about a group of individuals going out to brothels and reviewing the services of the employees there and getting paid to do so but in a fantasy setting.

In the series you will find an unfiltered take in both the positive and negative aspects when asking for the services of creatures that aren't the same species such as yourself in this world, in example and elf asking for the services of a fairy and so on. Admittedly it does end too soon and in the last 2 episodes it does feel rushed. But the series did contain a rather interesting take on the fantasy genre as the typical "adventures" we all know and love were treated as secondary side activities in the narrative of the show meanwhile the visitations to ones local brothel which are normally skipped in such a series were treated as the main narrative.

Now while this series isn't for those that can handle mature discussions such as intercourse. This series does help shine a light in how such activities might play out for both humans and non-humans within such a world, even how it would be like for a hermaphrodite as well as going so far as to how "gender-bending" would work in such a fantasy setting world as well.

The majority of the visuals are better then most other run of the mill animes. The 3D visuals on the other hand look almost like they belong on a PS2 but luckily the majority of the 3D visuals were far enough in the background outside of things like the fan overhead in the bar which weren't, the majority of them can be ignored as you wont be noticing them alot unless your really looking for them.

Overall It's a good show that done it's own spin of things. It's not a show for everyone as there are those that cannot handle adult discussions. Definitely worth a watch.

Decent Fan Parody but a Bad Batman Series.
30 November 2019
I'm not sure who written this but it just felt like I watched a fan parody and not a officially released series by DC. Legit every single character in this series was off, from the Joker to even James Gordon. The story is essentially just "I'm a strong and I can do anything" with the world and story bending around that idea and it's painfully obvious. The Art and Action scenes look good visually but they overblown some characters capabilities while downplaying others. I honestly didn't enjoy it but i can see the enjoyment factor in the series. As long as you don't think about anything and enjoy the pretty art it's quite a decent Fan Parody but as a Batman Series? Yeah, it's bad.

Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice (2019 Video Game)

Sekiro the meh
24 March 2019
Pros:
  • Interesting world.
  • Graphics are quite nice.
  • Voice Acting is pretty good.

Cons:
  • Poorly explained mechanics and systems.
  • The Level Design is even worse then Dark Souls 2.
  • Death Mechanic isn't as punishing as the Souls titles.
  • Combat is still just about Parry'ing and Dodging attacks.
  • No character customization, you can't even get a haircut.
  • Very repetitive enemy types, so most enemies will just feel like a copy/paste job.
  • The movesets you obtain from leveling up does little to add or change the combat.
  • The default Voice Acting language is Japanese instead of defaulting to the users native language.
  • Your character is completely devoid of life. Nearly every dialogue/ interaction they have is either a question or just a grunt. When they do show life the character still feels like they are devoid of personality and emotions
  • Your weapon (the katana) isn't touched upon nor is your armor. You wear and use the same gear throughout the whole game. The only thing that changes is the additional gear for your prosthetic limb which you can find and build.
  • The story is just bland and feels like it was just created to add some narrative to this game. There is also many moments in the 'story' which don't make sense from a narrative perspective. I would provide example but I will not spoil the story in this review.

Overall the game just feels rushed and completely barren, not worth playing.

Charlie Says (2018)

Pseudohistory of the Manson Family.
13 March 2019
The movie is about Charlie Manson and his manipulation tactics on the members of his cult.

Now let's start off with the good:
  • The cinematography in the film is remarkable.
  • Costumes is on point with the time period.
  • A few of the things said by Charlie in the film is accurate.
  • Matt Smiths portrayal of Charlie was remarkable.

Now for the bad:
  • Most of the acting in the film felt very amateurish.
  • The male members of the Manson Family are reduced to side characters.
  • Not enough focus on the atrocities which they committed and too much focus was on the emotions and mental state of the female members of the family.
  • The alteration of historical events so the viewer will sympathize with the female members of the Manson Family.

If you are looking for a accurate portrayal then this film isn't worth watching.

This is just a formulaic unimpressive film
7 March 2019
  • Main Character is lifeless.
  • Combat scenes are stale.
  • Blatant encouragement of sexism towards males throughout the film.
  • Unimpressive 90s kids pandering.
  • Boring Mary Sue storyline.
  • Formulaic 'Chick Flick' levels of dialogue.

The only enjoyable thing in this movie is Samuel L. Jackson. My daughters didn't even find it enjoyable neither, so this whole film was a waste of both my time and my daughters time.

Great Quality but way to short.
25 March 2018
This series is about Constantine, a sorcerer in the DC universe. In this series the main protag accepts a job that results in him delving into the world which our hero Constantine lives in within the world of the DC universe.

This series is different from your typical DC series. there is no "costumed heroes" or "big baddie" but instead demons, angels, and lots of other supernatural stuff. There is also a twist on it, being that you wont find your typical "boo's" and such. Instead you'll see fleshed out characters and an interesting story arc that branches out as each episode unfolds.

Humans are not the focus in this series, instead the focus of the series is on the supernatural aspects of it, like the magic and mythical creatures and such. It's a good series and it's clearly a risk for DC to branch out to such a series that is completely out of the normal formula for them. But it's a risk that was worth taking for them as the quality is superb and the world it's building within the already established universe explains alot more than what the other series did for the supernatural aspect of the DC universe.

If you're a fan of magic and supernatural stuff but still love that DC style, this series is for you. But even if it's not, I'd still suggest watching it. It's pretty good. The biggest fault of this series though is that it's way to short and the episodes end on cliff hangers all the time. It would of been better if they just made this into a movie or even hour long episodes instead of 10 minute long ones.

Overlord (2015–2022)

A Good Adaption but for finer details read the Light Novel.
11 February 2018
The anime for overlord while having being worked on by one of the best animation studios. isn't perfect. The anime skips alot of the source material in the first season while in the second they stay more true to the source material but they don't include everything from it, as a perfect adaption would.

Animation wise, it's ok. Most of the scenes are either single a frame with barely any animation on it, especially the scenes with creatures without mouth movements. Or they are heavily animated scenes where even the fabric of clothing is being animated. This would be a good animation quality from any other studio but from madhouse, one of the best. You'd always expect to see living scenery and not still frames with barely any life in them.

If you read the light novel, aka the source material. You'd know the story already and you wouldn't be missing out any details other than seeing the animated form of the scenes from the book. If you haven't read the light novel though you'd be lost about certain thing here and there, like why did ainz decide to use ____ kinda punishment? or does ___ have any brothers/ sisters? or how did ___ find ____ ? and etc. You'd honestly be lost in those finer details as the anime does skip alot of the explanations for things and doesn't go into what each character is thinking, unlike the Light Novel.

As long as you read the light novels alongside the anime, you should be fine. But if you don't you'll get confused here and there. It's still enjoyable regardless though. So, I highly recommend it a watch.
