Under the Eiffel Tower (2018)
Less Than 1 Star
If I could give this movie a negative score, it would be minus 10. Poor plot, poor writing, terrible acting, and no direction at all. Even the title, Under The Eiffel Tower, had nothing to do with the film. It's hard to believe that money was spent on such a worthless project. Happily, it didn't cost me any money to suffer through this uninspired waste of time. Save your money, save your time, save yourselves!!! Stay away from this film.
Diablo (2015)
Unbelievably Bad
I thought "The Lady In The Van" was slow, but this film beats it. So boring, with unnecessary aerial shots that dragged on forever. A ridiculous story line with zero character development. The story was a mass of confusion, with characters that came and went with no known reason. And, what's with the blood stained shirt that continued to be red through weeks of use. Doesn't blood, when it drys on material, turn a shade of brown? Scott Eastwood may have a future, but it will be nothing like his father's. This entire movie was a waste of time, talent, and film. Unbelievable. There goes ninety minutes of my life that I will never get back.
The Revenant (2015)
Entertaining But Too Long
The scenery was gorgeous. It is amazing that the director, Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu, went through the trouble of filming at locations that must have been extremely difficult for the actors and crew. However, by doing this, he kept the authenticity of the story. I appreciate an effort such as this, as opposed to CGI. All of the actors were strong and convincing. And, I can forgive the lack of continuity in a few scenes. My issue with The Revenant was time. This movie is too long. It drags at many places, making it boring. It could have been trimmed by thirty to forty-five minutes without losing any of the story. That would have made it a much more "edge of your seat" exciting film.
