I'd rather watch this than Attack on Titan
27 May 2020
And that may seem like an insult to those to love Attack on Titan. I don't mean to insult anyone but I prefer this as even though fights might be in the same vein this has more of the Science Fiction feel behind it than Attack on Titan does, not to mention it is connected to a video game series I actually care about vs. some manga I never got past volume 3 of because of boredom.

Those who wish a video game anime was actually good should watch this. Now to continue waiting for a second season that might never come...

Terraria (2011 Video Game)

If you think rhis is a Minecraft clone, your sorely mistaken
6 June 2018
Warning: Spoilers
First off this game is NOT for the faint of heart, it will chew you up and spit you out if you are unprepared. Secondly, I wouldnt recommend this to a child under the age of 12, because the parental guide to this game missed some suggestive item names/ more suggestive NPC dialogue, the bosses/creatures can frighten young viewers, and the difficulty of the game could be a bit much for those that dont have a fast reaction time.

Everyone before me has captured the fact that this game is ENDLESS! They also have done a good job at stating the fact that this game is 2D, unlike Minecraft. What they continue to fail to tell you, though, is the amount of items/weapons/armor in this game! After being spawnsd into your world, you have a guide to start things off. Other than giving vague clues as to what to do next, he is pretty much useless (except for later on in the game.) The first thing that is recommended is to build a house before nightfall and get the guide to move in. Afterwards you should go mining, beginning to make your character better by extracting ores/metals and finding life crystals. By the time you get back to the surface, youll be able to have more npc's move in, and more than likely be able to take on your first boss. This is a continuous cycle throughout the game, as defeating bosses progresses the game, making it more and more difficult as more time passes. Bosses also tend to get more difficult as you progress in the game. Remember that guide npc I told you about? SPOILER! He the litteral and metaphorical WALL that blocks your way into the midgame that takes 8+ real world hours to prepare for! You either overprepare for this boss, or you die millions of times trying!! And if you thought that the wall was bad, another spoiler! You now have 3 MECHANICAL bosses you have to defeat! And they are harder versions of bosses you most likely have slain already! The only thing is, you wont be able to use past equipment, cause itd be too weak to even deal substantial damage to them! These bosses especially have the abilitt to scare younger players.

Upgrading your equipment is also a never ending cycle in this game, and can also take the better part of a real life day, as it can get pretty grindy to aquire all of the items youll need for just one recipie. Im looking at you, Ankh Shield! You too, Cellphone! Certain items also have suggestive names, like a spell tome by the name of "Golden Shower," or the bait item "Master Bait" (this is the name of a real life item too, and fisherman actually joke about this quite often.) Female NPC's, if encountered on a Blood Moon in the game, tend to get quite irritable, which happens to be the root of a joke I have with my friends. And I forgot to mention that some of the monsters you find while mining can take you by suprise! The lost girl actually is a Nymph that wants to eat your flesh, and you may become the next poor soul to get turned to stone by Medusa!

Overall, this is a great game, but Id only recommend it to people 12 and older. If you allow your kids to play it, then make sure your with them and make sure you also dk a bit of research on the game itself so then you can help them and explain things as time comes. Heck, this could be a potential bonding experience for you and your kid if done right!

Minecraft (2009 Video Game)

Played to this day
26 November 2016
I STILL love to play this game although its been 6 years since I started. This is a game for kids, sure, but adults will love it as well.

You start with nothing, punch a tree to get wood, and climb from there. And make sure you build a shelter before nightfall; all sorts of nasty enemies will want to kill you if you don't.

I prefer this over Minecraft: Story Mode (that pure garbage) any day. It's meant to be a medium for expressing your creativity, NOT to be turned into a Tale tell game. I will say that this game can also teach you the life lesson that you need to be prepared for anything (I know, I dropped several f-bombs whenever a creeper killed me from behind.)

A must play, still holding it's fan-base strong in 2016. Sad to say that Mojang plans to let the Java edition go, though.
