1986 - made my first short movie on dad's VHS video camera - "The Thing Under the Bed."
1995 - wrote my first attempt at a novel (300-500pgs.)
1996 - NCEA 1 98% in algebra exam (highest in my high school.) Began learning computer programming.
1998 - Truck Driver's Assistant.
1999 - NCEA 2 (filmmaking, english, metalwork/woodwork, computers.) - that year my film teacher told me about a website called IMDB.
2000 - (college 1) Certificate in Television, Theatre and Radio - TV major.
2002 - rewrote my first novel as a 200-page short novel.
2003 - spurred on by an open call - scripts for The Dead Zone tv series, which I decided not to submit to (as the rules were too rigid.) I adapted my novel as an original tv pilot and sent it to my national tv station. They called me back. They loved my writing but didn't have the budget for my tv pilot as I envisioned it.
2005 - a blur
2008 - Began studying creative writing at polytechnic.
2011 - (college 2) Bachelor of Applied Arts in Creative Writing - Screenwriting specialisation.
2012 - won a 10hr mentorship from the NZSA for my novel in development.
2013 - finished this 2nd novel, (college 3) Level 6 Diploma of Art and Creativity with Honours - 2D Cartooning and Photoshop Art.
2015 - Started a graphic novel and video projects, wrote 3 short novels, finished adapting one of them to the stage play format, unsuccessfully. But the theatre company I sent it to liked my writing (felt the script was too novel-esque.)
2016 - Received an email reply loaded with well wishes and advice from favourite horror director Tom Holland (The Langoliers, Child's Play 1.)
2017 - Began adapting my stage play and rewriting various kinds of manuscripts including a book of short stories, comics, screenplays, theatre, novels and video game storylines. Started learning drawing fundamentals for cartooning and design drawing - got pretty good at Python computer game programming. 100 articles on my blog with a goal of 5,000 in 50 years. Started collaborating with two 3-person teams.
2018 - writing approx. 1,000 new pages + rewrites yearly, on various manuscripts, learning to improve my drawing skills, freelancing as a creative writing mentor/tutor and graphic artist. designing software. Saving up to produce micro-budget movies on video, websites, indie video games and gaming hardware. Sold my first cartoon.
2019: finishing 8 manuscripts within a year, improving my digital drawing skills, learning Javascript and learning to write e-learning courses. Freelance video editing, writing songs. with future plans to produce micro-budget video movies and learn Adobe Illustrator and direct animated films and/or work as an art director occasionally...
