Secrets & Lies (2014)

So so suspenseful

I Just accidently found this while wandering around youtube and I thought it read as a nice lil' 2 part thriller to end my night with. Oops, sorry that was a run-on sentence. This had my heart stopping more than once and cannae believe I had never heard of this mini-series. This is one of the best more or less modern thrillers I have ever watched. All of the characters are believable and very well portrayed. I loathed the police in this series, especiall the lead DI. Some have been almost as good through to the end; however, this was quite surprising and kept me guessing the entire time. Have an evening set aside to binge. Oh yes, and it was six episodes, not a mere two.

Dexter (2006–2013)

Re-watching for Halloween Season

Decided to re watch Dexter for this Halloween Season. It's truly addictive; however, I had forgotten how much I hated.the girlfriend Rita's character. She played a really good insensitive witch while perpetuating a sensitive facade to others in the series. Perhaps the writers intended for me to loathe her; perhaps not. You judge. Some episodes are brilliant and some, so so. After it became immediately popular, some of the stars that decided to join in on the dark fun, I loved, so be on the lookout for them. I won't spoil the surprises. This series is not for the faint of heart w. Explicit sex and serial killer actions.

Malice (1993)

Only 1 Error in this Film

I really like this movie and was happy to find it streaming on the Roku channel today. However; that said, the one casting error was Bebe Neuwirth. She was great in Frasier and other TV Shows. She is so annoying in this film, it almost makes me stop watching. She does a terrible accent, unless that's her original speaking voice. Skip over her parts in the film and it's a great suspenseful thriller which will keep you on the edge of your seat until the end. Oh yes, I do not like Gweneth Paltrow and this is one of her early appearances in a movie. I was glad she is only in 2 scenes, god bless her mom as that is the only reason she is in show business. Actors begetting actors.

Unexpected Non Stop Interest and Action

I was not expecting this to be so awesome. High octane thrills and spills. Non stop action and edge of my seat concern for Liam and Kim's safety. Forest Whitaker is good. Liam is great. Liams cohorts are awesome, 2 unexpected character actors that I always love to see in any movie. Leland Orser and David Warshofskym they both have such great faces. If you love non stop action and intrique...Watch. I'm writing this in the dark so forgive any spelling errors as my fingers are going off some of the keys.

Awesome, Awesome, now in my new favourite action movies along w. Ben Afflacks The Accountant.

The Last Detective (2003–2007)

Could've used more of these

I really adored this series except for Davies wife. I hated seeing her appear in an episode. Of course I guess we were not supposed to like her, maybe.

Mod's character should have had his own spinoff, what a delightful quirky character. I loved him in the seires.

Dangerous was a real treat as well. He was awesome in this role and w. A handsome face to watch all of his facial nuances.

There is a Marple w. Gwendolyn in it' Murder at the Vicarage, almost every character is played to beautiful nuances of facial expressions, a raised eyebrow, a nodding glance of knowing a secret and more, simply full of wonderful actors.

The Andy Griffith Show (1960–1968)

It's Black and White for me

It's funny about folks that grew up w. B/W TV and movies. I love programs and movies that were made in Black and White. I adore the 1st 5 Seasons of Andy Griffith and how as I may try and watch when an episode moves into the colour mode, I simply cannae get into it. I just picked up the 1st 5 Season box set from Walmart, so I must not be the only one that prefers the B/W shows.

The Night Clerk (2020)

Oh Boy, oh boy, oh boy.

John Laquizamo plays a really smart part in this movie. His appearances within the movie kept me involved. This is a very odd yet interesting introduction to a person w. Asperger's. It really kept me interesting in "what's next" and therefore I hung in to the point I was hooked. However, I hated the ending. I hate endings which are not quite clear. For some, I guess thinking of alternate endings is good for some, just not my cuppa tea. So instead of a 10, I took 2 points off for the ending.

Groundhog Day (1993)

Great to watch on a frustrating day

I love this movie and we watch it every Ground Hog Day and also do jokes from different scenes. However; I am here this evening because I have had the most frustrating and gruesome few weeks which kind of culminated today. I thought, what would relax me to watch and zone out with. This movie really brings home the trials of patience. So not yet up to the Clint Eastwood scene, but cannot wait to see it again and again, I may replay it a few times.

The Specialist (1994)

I love this movie despite Rod Steiger abysmil performance, same as in The January Man

Sharon Stone is beautiful in this movie. The scene w. The pale pink dress is stunning. James Woods is over-the-brialliant in this, of course I have liked him since his Eyewitness performance. Typical Sly role, and it's like w. A Barbara Streisand film/fan, you either love her or loathe her as Bob says in What About Bob. I do not think I have seen a Sly film that I didn't love and/or enjoy. Oh yes, Eric Roberts plays his trademark Jerk role, which he does also brialliantly in this movie, you love to hate him and I did and was happy for his resolve.

Metro (1997)

I forgot how edge of your seat this movie was.

I have not seen this in years. Watching it now streaming on Tubi. Simply non-stop action and ooh I do not want to look scenes. A great action flick. You forget how Eddie Murphy just exploded on the scene and in all of his first movies. Watch it for the 1st time or watch it again.

It was almost OK until the ending, then it really sucked.

I hated his sister in this one as well. I tolerated her in the original series as once in awhile she was a tolerable human being. The bad guys were easy enough to loathe in this series; however the good guys were lacking in empathy. They could have played up the Indian subplot more. I really would have enjoyed more depth there. This simply was sad.

I adore a mystery, a great crime series. I have tried 3 times to like this series as I have now finished the 27th season of Taggart. I tried watching this series years ago when it debuted. I thought the feminist slant would be a wonderful historical achievement; however, despite the issues w. Workplace discrimination; a feminist did not have to be and should never have been portrayed as Helen Mirren's character. She's not a likable character. It's not sexist to want a lead character, male, female and/or otherwise to be likable. I have a list of my favourite detective/crime series and the 1 thing they all have in common is at least 1 "likable" character. I find Mirren's character unlikable and taking on all of the reprehensible negative qualities of the male persona of old and embracing them to be liked by her peers. I have loved Dame Helen in Calendar Girls, Red, Red2 and more...but I loathe this series and find it gruesome to struggle through.

Too funny for words on Panties

I adore this movie. It is ridiculously eccentric and funny. Segal is great and a role that really illustrated his talent. Barbara is barbara, always and most impressive as an unsuspected comedic actress. BTW. I cannot sleep without the TV on either.

Johnny Skidmarks (1998)

Too dark for some, not moi'

Not slow as others have intimated, slowly compelling. I absolutely adore Lithgow, and he again does not disappoint, such an underrated actor. Just enough of Jack Black, not to be distracting. Twists and turns to the end. The last 20 minutes were intense for me as I do not appreciate a lot of graphic violence. I fast forwarded to avoid something anticipated that thankfully I didn't have to avoid. Was ABLE to go back and SEE the scene. And yes, it does know that it is a crime suspenceFULL thriller w. Appropriate violence to the theme of the storyline.

Good Bones (2016–2023)

Great Name, Wonderfully Appropriately When It REALLY Fits.

I hate this show. These 2 women have to be the most GENERIC among all the HGTV Shows. They take a gazillion TRENDY Things and CRAM them into 1 room. 1 of the roofs was absolutely visibly crooked. AND, OMG...they spent WAY TOO much $ on each and every project. My daughter and I are bingeing shows during this 2020 Pandemic and we just watched 1 house they did w. a 4500.00 house that DID NOT HAVE GOOD BONES. I jacked up a house once in a reno and even though I thought it was too ambitious, it still wasn't as horrible as that house. I mean there is nothing to this show other than spending 200,000K to make 30K...yes, that's a profit, but OMG. I spent 30 on a 60K house and made 90K. A Hillary Designer these 2 never came close. Tacky, Generic, Too much $$$$$$$$
