Response to horrible reviews of this wonder animation
15 August 2016
You always get the book readers moaning about the movies based on them, I get it, books are wonderful, but not everyone can read books, there are people like me, maybe invalid in some way, a visual person who likes to see, hear and learn from movies, but learn in a positive way.

This is such a movie, I have not read the book, I probably won't but watching this, I get the message, I get the wonder, I learn the lessons, but I also am amazed at the skill of the animation, the characters drawn, the lighting, the direction, the editing and the wonderful dialogues by so many actors, and the actors I love, the whole thing is wonderful experience.

So, those who wrote the horrible reviews moaning about what it should be, what it turned out to be etc. open your mind or in the case close it, put the movie on, and watch it like a child would, enjoy it, and appreciate the huge work that has gone into it.

Stunning

It is quirky!

The story is good, but how it has taken the story around and around, taking it to the end is amazing!

But mostly, the music! : The soundtrack is out of this world, for the first time I have turned up the sound to the maximum, specially at the end of Season 1, Episode 6 despite this being not Hans Zimmer!

Some acting is a bit overdone and not so impressive but you don't mind when it is alongside some of the brilliant lines uttered by really good actors.

It is believable, I get the tech parts, and I love the locations too.

It should be shown in every secondary school as part of curriculum

It would have been great to end the movie with clips from Vietnam, Nazi camps, Yugoslavia, Rwanda, Syria now, and many other atrocities around the world where sick leaders use this exact flow in human nature to get them commit horrible crimes. Film itself; Peter Sarsgaard is great as he is in every movie he is in, it is a good come back (hopefully it is come back) for Winona Ryder who is another great actor. The other characters in the movie are incredibly well cast and bring good reality to the decades the story has passed. I particularly love the scene with lawyers who argue about the experiment, fantastic faces and expressions.

If you love movies, you watch all the moments, you watch the actors, you see the locations, you see all the extras, and the incredible hard work that goes into creating those scenes. Along the way you also get the story, sometimes this is obvious, sometimes it is not, sometimes the movie is for eating popcorn and rarely it makes you work hard, makes you think, keeps you awake and alert, and in the end teaches you something; this is one of those great movies. As one other sensible reviewer said, this is not for idiots who wants to just eat popcorn with their eyes wide shut, their brains dead. If you haven't watched it yet, use your sense and realize that Keanu Reeves will not produce some idiotic movie and stick with it until the incredible end. It reminds me of one other great movie of the 90s, once you watch the movie you will know which one I mean.
