Holding the Man (2015)
Slow, sad but stupendous
In fact, it's a tragedy, especially when Timothy cried and told his mum it was like he had killed the man that he loved. However, I still feel a bit of sweetness. They had 15 years to live together, savoured all tastes of love, it's enough, isn't it? After all, who infected first is not the most important thing because they loved each other, till they died.
Actors, and actresses as well, are so amazing. If Ryan and Craig make me feel a strong love, Camillla and Kerry show me mothers' love for their sons regardless of their situation. I don't like the fact that two in three LGBT film I saw end up with AIDS, but I always think that AIDS is not a problem, the way we face it is a problem. And the way Timothy and John faced AIDS together is really really touching. They fell in love when two of them were young, and even if they cannot see their ageing, Timothy stood by John when John died.
There are three scenes I like the best, it is when John told his father he was not ashamed (because of his disease), it is when John wanted to sleep with Timothy the last time, and it is when Timothy softly told John he was here so that John could pass away with serenity because John had promised that he could not go without Tim at his side. I love this film!
Torchwood: Out of Time (2006)
A deeply moving story.
"Out of Time" is certainly one of the greatest episode of "Torchwood" season one. No war, no enemy, just three people get lost and need to help, that is all about "Out of Time".
John Ellis, an old man must witness the end of his world, wants to die. Captain Jack, a man who can't die, always hides all his sadness, loneliness and isolatedness behind cruel coldness. John cannot understand Jack's tenacity, though, Jack was able to understand John's hurt. It's the reason why Jack lets John die (and standing by him until the end). I doubt whether Jack's immorality is finally a blessing or a curse?
I don't understand why Diane says "The thing about love is that you always at its mercy" about Owen, however, it's the first time I think that Owen wanna be serious for an affair, instead of flirting or **** buddies. So sad! Emma, the brightest part of this story, is luckier than the other, she find a new life in London, her dreaming city, it's good, really good...
After all, a thriller movie doesn't always need a lot of deaths, sometimes, living and hoping are more difficult.
Doctor Who: Journey's End (2008)
The most terrible happy-ending of a love story
I have seen four seasons of the New Doctor Who. And this is the time to goodbye the tenth Doctor and all his companions, especially Rose. I always believe that Rose is more special than anyone of four seasons, because The Doctor loves her (or at least, he used to love her), regardless he doesn't say "I love you". At the Journey's End, everything the Doctor can give Rose is a Human Doctor who isn't really the Doctor, however, the Human Doctor will grow old and die along with Rose. He has only one heart, but all its pieces will be hers. It's a brilliant and terrible happy-ending for Rose, isn't it? This is the reason why I hate Davies, BUT, I can't blame anything. After all, we can expect what more?
