Fool's Gold (I) (2008)

Enjoyably fun
21 February 2008
I found this movie so very entertaining. I thought Alexis Dziena who plays Gemma was so adorable, innocent, sweet, and fun. She brought a lot of entertainment to the movie and was able to hold her own among a very talented cast, especially the experienced pros. I didn't want to see this movie because I found the commercials boring and dull and also silly. I was happy I went along with friends, we all laughed, held out breath in places, rooted for the good guys to get that good. Kate Hudson and Matthew Matthew McConaughey are a good team together, and hope they do some more films together in the future. They're good together in comedy. I could also go on and on about the cast members who were a pleasant surprise to see.

Hitman (I) (2007)

Hit-man a hit
29 November 2007
Acting matched the characters, especially Timothy Olyphant staying in that characters personal even when the gal was hitting on him sexually. I've seen Olyphant in Deadwood and loved him in that, and he was a great villain in the Die Hard latest movie. I hope to see more of him soon in anything. He would make it even better. His lean frame, stature and walk in these movies makes it even more realistic that he is that character. For a hit-man, you don't want to like him, but find yourself rooting for him and hoping he makes it through all the attempts on his life. Also, the entire cast of Hit-man was wonderful in their parts. Salute to the casting people. Lastely, Timothy had great taste in clothing and wore it so well in Hit-man. Hit-man is a HIT.

Sean Bean - wow - what more can I say
25 January 2007
Sean never disappoints the audience. Lift a pint to him. This was a 'bloody' horror movie, expected that and we were given quite some dark surprises. I didn't think he'd drive off with the young man tied to the vehicles ... but then realized the character that Sean was portraying was psyco and he received pleasure from others in pain. I think he was in pain himself, as the ending showed that. Sean can create a character and hold it till the end, that's such talent. He's so believable in the movie that when you dislike the character, you know the actor in fabulous. Thanks Sean for never disappointing us. Aside from my comments, WHY do they have to be 10 lines?

Apocalypto (2006)

Great film, fantastic actors. So believable.
12 December 2006
As a love of Mayan and Aztec cultures for decades, I was thrilled to be in the audience and not on screen. Graphic, but realistic how they worshiped and took hearts to feed the God. The actors, who I did not know, were fantastic....one stood out, Raoul Trujillo was so commanding a presence, I was sad to see him die. Actually, all the warriors were threatening on screen, but as the movie went on you could define the definite leader (Zero Wolf) and his small band of warriors/followers showed such loyalties (and at times perhaps some fear) to Zero Wolf, they didn't question any word. At first I found myself listening to dialect and reading the subtitles, yet after viewing for awhile it felt natural to show both. It made me think about the culture, showing the lives in a jungle along with family life and the beliefs of the culture. I will buy this movie when it comes out. It also had me thinking of taking another trip to Yucatan and Belize. I have to applaud the movie locations, cinematography, casting, and those associated with the making of this film. Thank you.

Jason Statham is never disappointing!
15 September 2005
I see Jason Statham as a man who is an action figure (hero), and is also appealing to women of difference ages and ethnic backgrounds. I'd like to see a Jason movie marathon on one of the cable channels so that there's no interruptions with commercials. He makes it all look so easy, and I know it's not. From the first movie I saw him in (Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels), I was hooked on him and have followed his career ever since. Never been disappointed with anything he's worked on/in. Actually have been happy to see him in all the movies, he kept the interest going. I will see this movie again. I hope there's a 3 to follow next year.
