The Killer (2023)
Boring, wordy, terrible, terrible film
It was nearly all tedious dialogue. Fassbender was hopelessly miscast. There was little substance, virtually no suspense, a massive number of plot holes, and it was very predictable. A Fincher disaster, frankly.
Why make the viewers suffer through Fassbender's constantly telling us all his thoughts? Who cares? We're left with him doing yoga-and the man isn't the slightest bit sexy. The actor wasn't competent enough to look at ease with that-or any other-scene.
The only good actor was the dog. And when he chased Fassbender, I wished that he would catch him-and bite him. At least that would have been a good idea.
Avoid this film-unless you have insomnia. This load of rubbish will put you to sleep.
CSI: Vegas: Legacy (2021)
Only a 4 because the new team can't act
Sidle, Grissom, Brass, Hodges-a reunion made in fan heaven. The new lot can't act, and they're killing this new series stone dead.
Why on earth did the network let the old favourites leave after one season? The four of them are so great as a team-they made this tedious pile of rubbish worth watching.
Paula has less acting ability and charisma than a credenza. The other two are even worse.
The ME is great. But he can't save this badly written, badly acted pile of dross.
Too bad-the show could have been great.
The Undeclared War: Episode #1.4 (2022)
Terrible- bad writing, what a mess
Where to start! Maisie what's her name can't act and does a terrible American accent. Get an American! Get an actress who can actually act!
The writing is dire. Saara wanders around a secure building like she's walking around Sainsburys! Seriously?
Terrible writing, terrible directing, poor acting. Simon Pegg should stick to comedy. And what in earth made Rylance take the part? At least they had one good actor- that's why I gave it a 2, not a 0.
Chicago Fire: Fog of War (2022)
Finally some needed new blood-so they got rid of him
A new lieutenant is hired full time. And Pelham's back story is actually interesting. Plus-Brett can act. So what do the writers do? They write out the character. And-worst of all!-they bring back the awful Stella Kidd.
I was so happy that she was gone. Miranda of the overacting, gurning, pulling faces, pouting (none of that could possibly cover for the fact that she's simply awful. Plus-in real life, it's just not on to be crawling all over the boyfriend when at work.
Stella does so much crawling-and even the actor playing Severide looks uncomfortable-nothing at all creepy about that, is there?
Now two other main characters are leaving the show-no need to even ask why, is there? Someone please send the ridiculously talentless Otto away. Anywhere. Far, far away...
Chicago P.D.: Gone (2022)
The Burgess and Rizek soap opera comedy show
Seriously? Chicago PD is -was-one of the best shows on TV. Now it's descending into a soap opera with some of the worst "acting" I've ever seen.
Burgess and Ruzek just can't act. They're so bad, you could laugh-if it wasn't so pathetic. And the stories, scripts (they've got scripts??), directing...
Dick Wolf should be ashamed at the way that his prized show is being destroyed. What's even worse is that the rest of the actors are terrific.
Why waste time on having two bad actors who should be doing something else? Maybe McDonalds is hiring...
The Split: Episode #3.6 (2022)
More fantasy than reality
Then there's the bike: in perfect condition after having been smashed by a bus. Seriously?
And the happy families-real relationships wouldn't end this happily. Suddenly Kate and Hannah are best friends, and the children are all accepting of their father's new-and pregnant-partner?
In what parallel universe does the writer work?
I was hoping for Christie to show up in the final few minutes. Now THAT would have been a redeeming ending...
Anything Goes (2021)
Sutton Foster was fantastic-the others? Terrible
Sutton Foster made this performance worth watching. She was absolutely brilliant! And she can act, which is more than anyone can say about the rest of the cast. Lindsay and Kendal should never, ever try to do an American accent-and they wildly overacted, spending the entire time pulling faces. In a word, Lindsay and Kendal stank.
Foster is a renowned Broadway star. She deserves better than the main cast; she carried the entire film. Such a shame that she didn't have the Broadway cast-although the dancers were superb.
I'm being generous with my review. Sutton on her own deserves a 10. Lindsay, Kendal and the rest of the gurners deserve a zero.
A Discovery of Witches (2018)
Cheesy, clichéd and predictable
Nothing we haven't all seen before. And some actions made no sense. English and Australian actors murdered the "American" accents. If you want American accents, hire American actors-and hire some who can actually act!
Scenery was lovely-story was boring and formulaic-acting was, quite simply, dire (painful, in fact). The scenery gets a 5.
No Time to Die (2021)
Overlong, boring, tedious and insulting to everyone
This complete rubbish is PC Bond, not James Bond. Ian Fleming must be turning in his grave, to see his creation destroyed by bad acting, bad directing and a script that should have been burned, not made.
Daniel Craig has never been much of an actor, and that's glaringly obvious. And to give the very talented Rami Malek such a small and ridiculous part is just criminal.
The film is crap that is more than an hour too long. There's no coming back from this travesty. There shouldn't be any more Bond films. Ever. No self respecting fan will ever come back after this mess.
FBI: Liar's Poker (2020)
Absolutely stupid-deserves a 0
Depressingly awful, and the writers (if you can call them that!) deserve to be sacked.
In real life, nothing like this would ever happen. Let a murdering drug lord go? Isabel would be suspended for being completely incompetent. And the actress who plays her lacks the talent to carry the part.
Nothing about this episode made any sense at all. It was inconsistent, juvenile, badly written, badly acted, and if real FBI agents were that dimwitted, the country would be in serious trouble. Dick Wolf: do better. You certainly couldn't do much worse.
Intergalactic (2021)
This is worse than terrible
Absolutely ghastly acting-if you could call it that. Dire writing, excruciating direction-cartoon characters, so formulaic it's just-pathetic. Please-a completely spineless "police woman" who is a gibbering wreck, a bunch of complete psychos, and very amusing "special effects".
Absolutely gob smacking drivel. Whoever wrote/directed/agreed to cast a group of females who have the talent and charisma of a rancid cowpat should be sacked.
This crap is a total waste of time.
NCIS: Los Angeles: The Noble Maidens (2021)
Renee Felice Smith is no substitute for Linda Hunt
Smith is just terrible. As Nell, she shows how little talent she has. I hope that Linda Hunt returns-and stays-she's one main reason to watch this show. The other reason is Gerald McRaney, who out acts everyone.
NCIS is becoming a soap opera. Someone needs to find new writers to bring it back to basics. And for goodness sake, bring Hetty back (maybe send Smith to acting lessons).
The Walking Dead: One More (2021)
Superb episode, one of the very best in years
TWD is back on track. Seth Gilliam and Ross Marquand were simply fantastic, the script was flawless, the acting and directing were flawless-and then there was the great Robert Patrick. Plenty of gore, humour, surprises-the three actors made this easily the best episode of the season. The three actors have brought us back to the phenomenal episodes of the early years. Excellent work.
Take Two (2018)
This is a total waste of time
Rachel Bilson was funny in Hart of Dixie. And this revolting mess was made by the makers of Castle-on a very bad day, obviously.
Terrible writing, poor direction (if you could call it that!), dire attempts at acting... we just got this in the UK, but why give us this drivel?
Bilson looks embarrassed, the "plots" are inane and predictable, it's all been done before-and better-and the "actor" who plays Eddie (never heard of him, and no wonder) has less talent than a door handle.
The only surprise is that it wasn't cancelled after episode two.
MacGyver: Save + The + Dam + World (2020)
Hit us over the head with a jackhammer, why don't you?
This was such a lame episode-a fitting finale to a lame season.
The original series was so much better in every way-this one is pathetic by comparison. Writers decided to throw climate change and air their "social consciousness" by smacking the viewers in the face with their own views. Bad writing, bad directing, terrible acting- a waste of time and the considerable talents of Jeri Ryan, who is always worth watching, even in this drivel.
Hopefully the next season will be an improvement. If the writers (if you could call them that) would give us a twist and put Mac and Riley together-and rid us of the awful Desi-now that would be a good start.
Proxima (2019)
Stereotypes, cliches, absolutely a stinker
Bad writing, terrible directing, all the usual stereotypes and cliches-a very predictable and terrible film. They obviously got Matt Dillon on board to appeal to the U.S. audiences. But-even he couldn't save this boring and tedious pile of tripe.
If you're looking for a good film-this isn't it.
NCIS: New Orleans: Judgement Call (2019)
Unrealistic and a bad start to the new season
Sadly, this episode was really stupid. In real life, Hannah would have been terminated. Immediately. She deliberately ignored orders and put other agents' lives at risk. Pride would have had a problem by sanctioning her behaviour.
A boring, tiresome episode-and the ghastly Chelsea person who has less talent and charisma than a plank of wood didn't do anything for the episode either.
They need new writers-if the season continues like this, people will be switching off in droves.
Magnum P.I. (2018)
Worse than dire-why did they butcher a good show?
This is an ungodly mess. Terrible acting, terrible directing, unbelievably poor writing... someone sack the writers. In fact, sack everyone involved in this cheesy, revolting, lame "reboot" of the original show. No wonder Tom Selleck didn't want to know!
This pile of crap is an insult to the original. Someone should get a boot, alright: in the obvious place! Hernandez and Weeks should be doing something else. Two planks of wood would be better than these two.
Run (2020)
Mindless Drivel
Merrit Wever is a good actress, and I hoped that this would be a good series. It's absolute rubbish.
Wever's talents are wasted. The first episode was so annoying that I had to stop watching. As for Phoebe What's her name-well, seriously, is this the best she can do? Time to retire, Phoebs- take up knitting.
NCIS: New Orleans: The River Styx, Part II (2019)
Stupid insult to viewers' intelligence
This could have been good-but it was absolute rubbish. Bad writing, bad directing, and terrible acting!
Why oh why did they cast Chelsea Field, someone who has less talent than a plank of wood? She can't help that she's ugly-but she can help that she has no talent whatsoever. Even the rest of the cast had the grace to be embarrassed.
Please keep her off the show-unless you want to lose your audience.
Emergence (2019)
Excellent show-nothing like Stranger Things
Tolman is terrific as Jo-in fact, the whole cast is excellent. I taped the pilot, thinking that if it wasn't any good I would just delete it. But it's great.
Finally, a good story line and believable characters, not the usual PC group of disparate actors thrown together in something dreary and unbelievable.
I'm looking forward to seeing it through to its conclusion. A second series would be more than welcome.
Hitmen (2020)
Absolutely terrible
This is so awful-I would give it a -10 or perhaps a-100. Whoever thought up this mess should be shot. And these two women are hopeless, talentless, not funny- and quite pathetic. Ghastly. Incredibly ghastly.
The Twilight Zone: The Wunderkind (2019)
Deserves a zero
Absolute dreck. Someone should be sacked for this episode. I hoped that a reboot of the original series would-might-perhaps be almost as good as the original series. Not this utter mess.
Rod Serling must be turning in his grave. Anyone associated with this should be ashamed.
Ford v Ferrari (2019)
Terrific film, well worth watching
Even with the mediocre Christian Bale (why didn't they cast someone with talent?), this is a very exciting and great film. Matt Damon is fantastic-but he's always fantastic. Why Damon hasn't received an Oscar for his acting talent is a mystery.
If you enjoy motor racing, you'll love this film.
Charlie's Angels (2019)
The reviews of 1-even 2 or 3- are right
This film is so bad, it deserves bad reviews. I'm a woman-so the idiot theory that only men hated it is wrong. It's a waste of time and money. In short, it's a stinker.
I could make fun of all the people who gave it a higher score than a seven. I could say that they're idiots who have no taste, no judgement, and are just plain thick.
Maybe they're the trolls, not those of us who actually like well scripted, well directed, well acted films. Perhaps I'll just say that they clearly like mindless drivel.
Someone in Hollywood should be gelded for this mess. Take every film reel-and burn it.
