Six Days of Sistine (2019)
Extraordinary
Watching this film is such a unique & thoughtful experience. Two beautiful young people, both of different languages, no understanding of each other but so intrigued & trusting of one-another. The film shows us that despite a language barrier, how as strangers they manage to fall in love & feel what they're feeling, completely present & unaided just by the use of touch, reading body language, etc. It almost reminded me of how innocent & exhilarating it is to fall in love. There was also an extremely artistic yet realistic feeling within the film, I kept thinking of the film Amélie as I was watching this.
Midsommar (2019)
Boring, slow and disappointing
This came across teenage low budget movie vibe and it was so tedious, basically it's what you get when you enter a cult full of hippy weirdos. What can I say other than that.
The Woman in the House Across the Street from the Girl in the Window (2022)
Parody? It still sucked though.
Sure it was cringe on purpose but it was what should've been a 90 minuet crapfest movie into a drawn out mini series, it was beyond boring.
I gave 2 stars only for the fact Kristen is a babe. Otherwise, don't bother with this one.
The Fall (2013)
Worth it, even if season 3 wasn't fulfilling
If you're into serial killers you'll probably love this, the first two seasons were extremely engrossing, I fell into an almost obsession with it as soon as I started but I'll admit just like everyone else, season 3 wasn't what we'd had hoped it'd be. I almost felt like it was a predictable ending, with Peter/paul being caught, no where else to go with his story, what else could he have done but kill himself to escape any punishment? Being a sadistic and morbid narcissist, that was pretty much the only way it'd have gone. Disappointing, yes but realistically, spot on.
The Haunting of Bly Manor (2020)
Splendidly Dull
It was repetitive with an easily figured plot, not in the least bit gritty or horror/haunting based. It was just simply boring beyond belief, the only redeeming parts and the only reason I gave two stars is Victoria Pedretti and some LGBT inclusivity. Other than that, straight in the bin tbh.
Trust (2021)
Haha ohhhhh boy
I hate leaving negative reviews on films, I really do. But, I feel like it's an act of humanity to make sure at least one person reads this review and doesn't waste their time trying to watch this.
Please. Don't. Do. It.
I had to watch a light hearted chickflick after I got done with this depressive little bag of trash they call a film. Do. Not. Watch. It.
Surviving R. Kelly (2019)
A life changing documentary but brutal on the soul
I hope that everyone who was part of this documentary, through either direct abuse or indirect as a parent, friend, or employee, etc manages to find some healing in life after all of this. It was significantly hard to watch, regardless of If you've endured anything like it personally or watched it happen to someone, it will hit you. It's brutal. Horrifying in fact. What everyone has and is saying about how painful to watch this is, they aren't lying at all so please don't take it lightly. I couldn't get through it all as sadly it hit me in ways that left me feeling almost depressed for an entire day but it was probably supposed to impact people like this, to show us everything those humans have endured and tell their stories to maybe even release some pain and feel even the tiniest of fraction of justice that so awfully they've never gotten and maybe never will. Approach this documentary with caution if you are sensitive to this kind of thing.
Hannah Gadsby: Nanette (2018)
It's comedy but it's intention wasn't for humour
There has never been a comedian with greater depth and astounding intellect as Hannah Gadsby. For sure it won't be everyone's cup of tea nor will everyone find this "funny" but I don't think that is her ideal aim here. You'll love this if you enjoy bold, dark, deep, personal and sensitive comedy. If you're looking for a laid back gut giggle on the sofa, this one won't be for you. On the off chance you want something a lot more raw, this one certainly is for you. Hannah is full of character in all the right ways, she's so enjoyable regardless of your preferences in comedy.
47 Ronin (2013)
Most beautiful film ever
If you are skeptical of this film due to the most outrageously stupid ratings, just do it. It will be the best decision you make, one of my now favorite movies ever, so beautiful, honoring and all around amazing. Please please! give this a watch, you won't regret it! I can't understand why anyone would give this less than at least an 8, even if you aren't a fan of movies like this you can still most definitely appreciate it and see it's beauty, I personally was skeptical about watching this at first due to the reviews and I'm so glad that I did, really shows some actual history in there too as well as making it very entertaining.
