Star Trek: Discovery: That Hope Is You, Part 2 (2021)
"Let's fly". Trek at his best.
Haters and 'purists' have always been orbiting around ST and complaining about every new change, from TNG, to DS9 and of course, Voyager.
Now the empty complaints revolve about "Too emotional" "Bad Acting" "Technobabble" (!!) ... It seems they never saw a single chapter of any of the old incarnations of the Trek universe. An emotional, fun and beautiful universe.
This was a beautiful closing of the great third season of a great series. Don't listen to the haters and see for yourself. Maybe you like it or maybe not, but, in my humble opinion, Discovery is a great update to Gene's Universe. Not a copy of the past or a betrayal of it.
This is Trek at his best, don't listen to haters (particularly those who clumsily hide a reactionary hatred for a diversity that Star Trek has always championed, promoted and sustained)
Star Trek: Discovery (2017)
"Don'y listen to haters" should be a rule of thumb.
I have not read consistent reviews, only nonsensical babbling of haters who seem to have never seen the previous sagas of the series. From acting complaints (in the same series that has had dear Shatner doing ... well, Shatner), technobabble complaints (in Star Trek!), even crying over 'filler episodes' (when in previous sagas half of the more than twenty episodes per season were filler).
"Oh, this is very 'crying' or 'emotional' ..." Excuse me, but: What old Trek series did these purists watch? Because Star Trek was always about these topics: humanity, fear and betrayal vs. courage and trust, loneliness, mutual aid, wonder at the unknown, and the idea that humanity can be better in the future than we were in the past. And that hatred and cruelty should not be our tool, never.
Don't listen to haters. Check it out for yourself, maybe you like or not but, in my humble opinion, it's a worthy and beautiful current recreation of Gene's universe.
