The Kominsky Method (2018–2021)
8/10
Chuck Lorre's best work since early TBBT days
30 May 2020
The Kaminsky Method is a return to form for Chuck Lorre, the last thing i liked of his was very early Big Bang Theory days (season 1-5) and before that, Two and a Half Men (season 1-7) were great. I just hope he doesn't milk The Kaminsky Method for 10-12 seasons, instead, make the choice of ending it after maybe 5 seasons

Directed well, story needs some work
13 May 2020
Being a fan of the TMG podcast and pretty much anything Noel Miller and Cody Ko do, I thought I'd check this short movie out. Overall, I thought it was quite for a YouTuber short film. The direction was surprisingly good and was shot pretty well with lighting and the overall tone was solid and consistent.

My only real concern with the film is the story, I like the idea of this innocently looking women being a serial killer, it's a funny horror movie story. But there isn't really any development. I understand how it can be quite hard with the runtime to really create a true character arc, and if they decide to make a feature length movie, it might be something they work on. But does need work.

Overall, I think they have potential. I've always said very few YouTuber's would be able to make the jump from YouTube to making working in a movie or TV business and I think Noel Miller and Cody Ko could do that, some of the very few that could.

Jerry Seinfeld: 23 Hours to Kill
8 May 2020
Is this Jerry Seinfeld's best comedy special ever? No. Did I enjoy it? Yeah, I guess.

I've been a massive fan of Jerry Seinfeld since I first watched Seinfeld. It's my favourite sitcom and probably one of the most brilliant and best written shows ever! Definitely the best in comedy.

It must be hard to create new material when you have had one of the most successful and lengthy comedy careers ever!

The man still looks great for 65 and I hope he continues to make comedy for many more years, Jerry is still a hilarious man and his show Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee is still probably the best talk show.

I feel with this show, let it slide if you thought it was weaker because the man is legend. One of the greatest living comedians ever.

Scooby Doo meets Evil Dead
3 May 2020
I'm a simple man, if I see a potential slasher with a goofy tone, I normally indulge. I loved the Scream movies as they take the piss outta old timely slashers with the consistent cliches.

I liked the story of the movie, mainly because I like those... well Cabin in the Woods movies and it really brings the tone, embraces the cliches. But with a interesting twist.

I felt the gang was cliche, of course, kinda falls into the whole slasher movie tropes. Kinda Scooby Doo-ey too.

The jock - Fred The pretty girl - Daphne The innocent girl - Velma The fool - Shaggy

I kinda enjoyed it for what it was as a movie, not to be taken seriously and just have fun with it. I see this movie as a movie you would watch with your friends whilst drunk.

How I Met Your Mother: Last Forever: Part Two (2014)
Season 9, Episode 24
1/10
What was the point
22 April 2020
Warning: Spoilers
I was always a fan of HIMYM from a young age and watched the show week in, week out. Season 9 had a lot of problems but I hoped for the last episode, they'd give us one last hooray before signing off. But to find out that the Mother died at the end so Ted get finally get with Robin was lazy, insulting and infuriating. We waited nine years to see what happened and we couldn't even get a decent conclusion.

They put us through the 9th season, getting to wedding day for them to get a divorce in the next episode, seriously?!

A less engaging Freaks and Geeks
21 April 2020
The idea is practically the same as Freaks and Geeks, two different group intertwine and how they get on, but instead of the mathletes and the stoners, it's the AV Club and the Drama kids.

I don't think I would have minded this as the idea seems to be fine, could have been interesting and I've always liked the 1990s with movies, TV, Music and fashion.

Rian Johnson with yet another favourite!
16 April 2020
I remember falling in love with Rian Johnson after he directed probably the greatest episode of all time (Ozymandias) and I was a defender of The Last Jedi so I'm just happy people are talking him seriously again. This movie was probably one of my favourite movies of 2019, which is saying something because I think 2019 was a great year for cinema.

The standout in this movie was Daniel Craig in my opinion, at points, i forgot it was Daniel Craig and that's a huge compliment to his in depth transformation into Benoit Blanc. Ana De Armas was exceptional as well, probably her best performance. The whole cast worked well, thought Toni Collette was hilarious, Chris Evans can act! Lakeith Stanfield was great as usual, Chrisopher Plummer has still got it.

The story was incredibly well written, Rian revealed things at his own pace, for the first 20 minutes or so, I was really trying to find out who done it?

Overall, just a fun time, I loved watching it

Perfection!
15 April 2020
I don't think there has ever been an episode of a show that has literally made me applaud at my screen. I was shocked. This episode is definition of perfect, people always say that TV is secondary to film but this episode makes me think that TV is more perfect that film.

Fruitvale Station

Michael B. Jordan and Octavia Spencer really shine in this heartbreaking story. Ryan Coogler really does get it right with this film and telling the story of Oscar Grant respectfully.

Climax (I) (2018)

Gaspar Noé, I applaud you.
21 March 2020
The only other Gaspar Noé film I've seen is Love, which was nothing to special, it was average and I didn't really understand the hype around Gaspar Noé. Until, I saw Climax. This movie is a rollercoaster! Intense isn't a good enough word to describe this. I haven't felt that uncomfortable, in a good way, about a movie in a long time. It had everything going for it, the direction and cinematography was incredible, the dance routines were impeccable, and the performances, especially by Sofia Boutella, were amazing! The barriers they broke with the cinematography was unreal, made you feel like you are trippin' out on LSD with the constant rotation! Angles I didn't even think were possible to do! This was horror done right! I applaud you, Gaspar Noé, I applaud you.

RIP Gus
16 March 2020
Warning: Spoilers
I'm not the biggest fan of Lil Peep, I have listened to his music but he seemed like a nice dude so I gave this a watch. Real sad to hear about what happened in his early life and his struggle with mental health and drug abuse.

The ending with 911 call was quite hard to watch, but the people on the tour bus shouldn't be given the time of day, the man he was with at the start, talking about how everyone are clout chasers, I felt that was true.

And whoever toke the photos at the end, the photos of Gus' lifeless body, he ashamed. That part made me mad because absolutely not respect

Fincher does it again
10 February 2020
The first half the movie felt a little slow, but around the 1hr 10min mark, the movie kicks into another gear. Rosamund Pike is great, Ben Affleck with one of his best performances (someone that doesn't like Ben Affleck) the second half of the movie is a fantastic modern thriller movie but the first half was okay, but not great.

Rango (2011)

Rango - A Strange Masterpiece
24 January 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Rango isn't like normal animated children's films, it doesn't have the perfect looking animals, the bright and beautiful colour palette of something like Zootopia, Rango feels more like a normal spaghetti western, but with animals instead of humans.

When I watch this movie, I'm mesmerized by the sheer amount of effort and time that went into it. The animators did a wonderful job at giving every character a unique look and feel.

The characters within the movie are great, Rango is obviously the stand out, I find a few animated children's movies funny but not as much as Rango, thanks to a wonderful performance from Johnny Depp.

But the most amazing, inventive thing this movie did was stand out from the crowd, not follow it.

Also, the Ride of the Valkyries scene going through the canon is honestly one of the greatest moments I have ever seen in an animated film.

Quentin Tarantino's love letter to cinema!
4 January 2020
Quentin Tarantino smashed it once again with Once Upon A Time In Hollywood. This movie was absolutely incredible to watch, the level of detail that went into creating this. It felt like Rick Dalton was a real person and this was a biopic to him, the story is simple, yet so engrossing and that ending... wow! The acting talent in this movie is amazing. Leo DiCaprio in his most honest role to date, Brad Pitt's best performances since Fight Club, Margot Robbie is wonderful, Julia Butters is going to be a star, and an excellent performance from Margeret Qualley as Pussycat. Everyone in this movie had their moments, all were great.

Can safely say I loved every minute if this movie.

Mystic River
20 August 2019
Mystic River is a brilliantly made movie with even better acting, Sean Penn and Tim Robbins absolutely steal the show with fantastic performances, worthy of winning best actor and best supporting actor.

A really dark, heartbreaking and chilling movie.

The reason why the movie doesn't have a higher rating then 9 or a 10 is because of the last 10-15 minutes of the movie, it dragged on for too long and kind of ruined it. But overall, a solid movie worthy of Oscar wins

Sia - Elastic Heart
2 August 2019
It's a great song, no doubt! But the video is the best thing about Elastic Heart. Shia LaBeouf absolutely kills it in this video, a really good performance from him, without the use of speech. You can see the emotion

Not even Tarantino's best movie and it's still bloody brilliant
20 May 2019
I don't think it's Tarantino's best movie, he has set a really high ceiling for himself with Pulp Fiction, Django Unchained, Resvoir Dogs and Inglorious Basterds (and yes, that's my order) but it's still bloody brilliant.

The cast, wow! The cast! It's like he just toke his favourite actors from his other films and just put them this western masterpiece! Michael Madsen, Samuel L. Jackson, Kurt Russell, Tim Roth, Walton Goggins! Even Bruce Dern is in it! And his newer additions such as Channing Tatum and Jennifer Jason Leigh

Slavery Westerns dominated the 2013 Oscars
20 May 2019
Django Unchained and 12 Years A Slave were both up for the Best Picture, and I feel as though they got it wrong. Django Unchained isn't just the best film of 2013, but actually one of the best films ever made. It's a brutal and realistic representation of the western world. Outstanding performances from Jamie Foxx, Christoph Waltz, Kerry Washington and of course, Leonardo DiCaprio (and if you can share an award, Christoph Waltz and Leonardo DiCaprio for best supporting actor)

The Favourite (2018)
The Favourite (2018)
20 May 2019
This movie was a funny, dark humour movie but I would only say it was that! I don't think it was worthy of a Best Picture nomination (I don't think there was a good enough selection for best picture) Olivia Colman was great but was she the main character, I don't think so?! I thought the main characters were Rachel Weisz and Emma Stone (both brilliant, Rachel Weisz more so)

I find it annoying that you can't give half stars on IMDb because I feel 7/10 is too low but 8/10 is too high... but 7.5/10

I always found this show to be a rollercoaster ride of emotions. A lot of happy then sad moments. This episode destroyed me, I never cry at movies/TV or anything really. But this, the way Jack died. It killed me. I just couldn't stop crying

Up there with the best Teen Movies
20 April 2019
The Edge of Seventeen is, in my opinion, one of the best teen movies ever made. Up there with The Breakfast Club, Perks of Being A Wallflower and 10 Things I Hate About You. Hailee Steinfeld is one of the best upcoming actresses out there!
