Great if your up for a bit of fun!
19 August 2006
Warning: Spoilers
If you want to go out and have a bit of fun, get a laugh and don't want the living daylights scared out of you with the recent release of 'Snakes on a Plane' well Material Girls will be a good choice. It may be a little silly but at the end of the day its a lighthearted movie with a good message. The Duff sisters acting talent has to be commended. Hilary acting like I have never seen her before. She is no longer acting a little goodie-girl but has made the transition into an adult who is a lot of fun to watch on screen. The elder Duff, Haylie, also has to be mentioned for her great acting skills and humour. Over all a likable movie with a moral which is worth seeing.

With the main star of the film Alex Pettyfer (playing Alex Rider) starting off the film in the classroom talking about his uncle who is at a conference in Cornwall - well more like a mission in Cornwall. After the death of his uncle (played briefly by Ewan Mcgregor) in a high speed chase with Yassen Gregorovich(played by Damian Lewis), Bill Nighy and Sophie Okonedo's characters force Alex into MI6 world to be a spy, following in his uncles footsteps who has secretly been training him all along....... Darrius Sayle (played excellently by Mickey Rourke) is distributing a stormbreaker computer to every school in the country, but somethings going on..... Alex Rider is sent to Cornwall to investigate. In the end Alex Rider saves the school kids of great Britain - will this be Alex Rider's last mission or will Alan Blunt blackmail him into the world of Espionage yet again....

This movie was amazing, Steve Martin and Queen Latifah are a great team they made the whole movie so much fun. When Peter Sanderson (Martin) expects a date with a classy lawyer at his home, instead a large loud woman just out of prison Charlene (Latifah), appears on his doorstep and comes into his home and his life with a bang! At the end of this hilarious movie after a whole lot of havoc Charlene and Peter actually build up a good relationship despite their differences. All of the cast were brilliantly picked including Peters hilarious assistant (Eugene Levy) Mrs Arness (Joan Plowright) and The Sanderson kids, they all contributed to making this film the movie of 2003!
