Not as bad as people are saying
7 January 2013
Warning: Spoilers
Going to see this film earlier today I didn't have the best of intentions from this film. I expected to be entertained and nothing more. To be honest, I found that there were some clique moments in the film but in the overall sense it was actually a good horror flick. It was actually nice to see that the 'bad guy' was shown as the 'victim' in the film series. I also liked how the main female heroine decided to take on 'responsibility' of the family heritage. It was actually nice to see that happen instead of the basic good vs bad storyline. The psychological aspect is a part of film. Although it doesn't go into depth in the film. There is still a part of the film that you can enjoy by watching it. Just go see it without comparing it the original and I think you will very much enjoy it.

Really Terrible! Really Bad!
4 April 2012
Can we say a Star Wars rip off? Really this was a really terrible movie. There was hardly a plot and it depended on Special Effects to guide the movie. How pathetic! How else can I express my dislike for this movie other than it needed to never been made. Hollywood has hit a new low! John Carter is nothing more than trying to ride the success of Start Wars, Star Trek, Avitar, and other successful films that were a lot better than this film. That is saying something because Avitar is one of the most unoriginal movies ever made. What else can I say than to warn people to not waste their money by going to see this film? The movie couldn't have done worse. People need to open their eyes and realize that a special effects driven more, like John Carter, does NOT equal a good movie.

Terrible Movie
23 February 2012
I can't believe that people that are older than the age of 18 actually liked this movie. It is moronic, childish, and immature. Will Ferrell does his usual SNL acting, which wasn't to good in the first place. Everyone else seemed to be in this movie because they wanted the paycheck. Therefore, didn't take this job seriously and did not do the best job they could have. I think that everyone in this movie was trying to pretend that they were actually younger and more immature than they actually where. Adding to the actual negativitity of this movie. I don't know how to explain how terrible this movie is without actually using bad language and added swear words. The best way to describe it is that this movie is for the very immature and self centered losers who peaked in high school and couldn't climb out of being a kid and actually become a REAL Adult who is successful personally as parents and REAL Adults. I am very disappointed. Unless you are a 15 year old male kid then I suggest that you keep away from this movie.

Michael Bay Should be Band Permanitely from making movies
10 May 2010
When it comes to a Michael bay movie it is actually very much VISUALLY good movie. However, that is all it is, a VISUAL movie. When it actually comes to a plot line and character development Michael bay SUCKS!!!!!!!! He does not get how to make a movie beyond Visual Effects! and he completely misfired on this remake!!! The only reason I am giving this 7 stars because I liked the visual effects and thats all. THere could of been so much more in this movie!!!!!

When it comes to a horror movie and dreams a person with any type of vision can make an excellent movie. This idea was completely missed by Michael bay. What can be said is the visual effects are good. What was Robert Shaye thinking when he employed Michael Bay's Production company to remake this movie???????????

Bad film
22 April 2010
Why does Hollywood insist on making films for money purposes???? It seems to me that if they make a film that has a great storyline, good acting, good producing and good directing the audience would come back again and again to watch a certain film because of the company that made the movie possible.

yet in this film we find that there is terrible acting, a bad script, and a poorly directed film that expects the audience to look past it to a higher "cause". That cause would be "give me money because the movie cost us a lot of money".

That doesn't do it for audiences. For example, look at "The Dark Knight". A well written story, a strong cast, well directed, very well edited. Furthermore, it gave the studio who produced it credibility with audiences.

This movie "godzilla" was just a pathetic attempt for Sony to cash in. How could people actually like this movie?

Slow Starting But Ends Well
31 March 2010
Warning: Spoilers
Going to the Los Angeles Premere of this film I found that the movie itself was very well done. Great use of camera angles, well acted, and to storyline grasped you into caring about it characters. Although, the first 20 or so minutes of the movie are a bit slow moving and you don't really get to know the characters very well you still are captivated by what is yet to come.

By mid movie we, as an audience, are becoming more and more involved in the plot line where it will take us. The characters have become fully developed and we want to know more about what exactly is happening.

As the end of the movie nears we find various different characters have some type of link to the main male character's past. Further blurring what is real and what is not.

By the end we find that the character is doing soul searching while he is dying in the back of a car and feels guilty for the lives he helped to destroy. In his own mind he is trying to let these sins go before he dies and is willing to "burn in hell" for what he has done. What a great independent film!

movie sucked
7 December 2009
I was expecting a movie with some content in it. However, I was dead wrong. All I got was a movie in which I got the power point version of what had happened. I am severally disappointed in that regard. I wanted to see an epic movie about our history. This movie is not that. The movie was choppy and there was no real motive for anything with the characters and the storyline was less than horrible. How could anyone in their right mind actually enjoy this movie???? The acting was good. That was the only thing that was redemable about the movie. Otherwise It completely sucked and it needed new writers, director, and cameramen, and almost everything else besides the actors needed to be changed about this movie. Don't buy it. it is not worth the money that you spend on it.

entertaining enough to watch but acting wasn't there
20 November 2009
The major problem that I had watching this film was that the acting from Kristen Stewart was not the character that the books envisioned. I grant them that the film did follow the book's story line as well as they could on the screen. The tenseness did gain momentiam throughout the film and there was genuine concern that came across during the film due to the atmosphere created by the director and everyone behind the camera. However, there was still lack of emotion given off from the characters that the actors tried to portray. Kristen Stewart was the worst. She said her lines well but there was no body language that she gave off that made me believe that she believed what she was saying. There was no emotion behind the lines. It was like watching a catatonic actor. Furthermore, there was no real connection that I felt between any of the major characters, i.e. Edward, Bella, or Jacob. I feel that this movie could of been a lot better if the right actors were put into place beyond just for adolescent eye candy that I heard all the tween girls in the audience scream with in the movie theater. It would of been better if the right actors where put into the characters. Overall, I did find it entertaining enough to watch and have a good time during the movie. But there could of been a lot more done to do the characters justice and the storyline.
