Billions (2016)
Started off so good, but then.....
Billions was really good, even great, for the first few seasons, then got progressively worse, with this last season (6) almost unwatchable. I personally enjoy more of the business scheming storyline, with the personal conflicts and drama further down my list. I just found myself hating, and yelling at the screen about Paul Giamatti's character, Chuck; just so petty and unhinged from reason, with such a hate for wealth, while living a pretty high life himself, and extorting his ex-wife out of 20mil. Typical hypocrisy. I know it's only a TV show, but I expect that attitude is actually more common than I'd like to think, but anyway. I would still highly recommend the first few seasons, but just be prepared and cut it off anytime, as you won't be missing much after season 4. I seldom write reviews, but just felt the need to vent after one of my favs was pushed off a cliff.
California Girls (1985)
California Dreams
I guess getting old is putting holes in my memory. I thought it was called "California Dreaming" or similar. I see on the art it also says "California Dreams", maybe it was called something else when it aired. Anyway. I was an impressionable 19 year old in 1985, living in a small town in Kansas. I saw this show and it inspired me to join the Air Force the very next day, as a way to get out of my routine. I'm sure I don't recall production quality or acting, but it did have an impact on my life as motivation to make a change.
