Star Wars: The Bad Batch: Aftermath (2021)
Amazing opening with lots of action and just plain fun!
I really loved this first episode! So much action, the visuals were amazing, voice acting is great as always and we SAW some familiar faces.
Couldn't ask for more and I am excited for the next episodes.
WandaVision: Now in Color (2021)
It's starting
Ofcourse the first two episodes were gonna be a bit slow, and feel like nothing was going on, it's kind of the point.
Now things are kicking off and getting very interesting.
Can't wait for the next one.
WandaVision: Don't Touch That Dial (2021)
Ready for more
Very funny episode. I suspect the plot will take off in the next episode, and I'm all for it.
To the people saying that it's 'boring' and has no real story: that's the point. There is something larger going on, which they (and we) aren't supposed to know yet.
WandaVision: Filmed Before a Live Studio Audience (2021)
Great start, very intriguing and genuinely funny.
I didn't know what to expect from this show, only watched the first trailer, looked weird, which was their goal.
Very happy with the first episode, glad they're gonna release it weekly (2eps/week).
The Mandalorian: Chapter 16: The Rescue (2020)
Everything I hoped For And More
First of all: R.I.P. Jeremy Bulloch, you will always be our first Mando. Absolute legend.
I don't know where to start.
The plot was kind of what everyone expected, an extraction on Moff Gideon's cruiser to save Grogu. It's how they did it, I'm speachless.
Spoilers from here.
So they defeated Moff Gideon pretty quickly, what I thought was that they were going to Tython then, to make contact with 'a jedi' to help Grogu. That's not what happened...
The dark troopers came back (I thought that seemed ablittle too easy), and they're trapped on the bridge. Then... An x-wing arrives. As soon as I saw that X-Wing, I knew who was gonna be on it. We see none other than Luke Skywalker (yes, played by Mark Hamil) destroying the dark troopers. He arrives at the bridge and drops his hoodie, and there he is. A de-aged Mark Hamil as Luke Skywalker. I think Mark Hamil is really happy with this, that he got to play Luke Skywalker as how we all remember him. But that's not all. R2- freakin - D2 comes in. At this point I was I'm crying my eyes out.
The way Mando (Din) took of his helmet for Grogu, just beautiful. So beautiful.
Anyway, I have nothing but praise for this and I can't believe it will be a year before we can watch the next episode.
(Also that Boba Fett tease was very intriguing, and I can't wait for more Boba Fett).
The Mandalorian: Chapter 15: The Believer (2020)
Great episode
Overall great episode. I really like the character development we got on Mayfield.
Now it's waiting for next week.
The Mandalorian: Chapter 14: The Tragedy (2020)
He is back and better than ever
All we could have hoped for, boba is back, and not just for 1 episode. It gave me literal happiness to see him in action.
Looks like we're getting a team-up at least till Grogu is back safe and sound.
Seeing Temuera Morrison back in action was everything.
I'm predicting next episode will be some kind of prison break where they break out Bill Burr's character.
I don't want this season to be over
The Mandalorian: Chapter 13: The Jedi (2020)
Ahsoka. What a comeback.
Ahsoka Tano. Grand Admiral Thrawn. Jedi Temples. Grogu.
Thank you Dave Filloni. You absolute legend. I hope Disney learns from this amd listens to the fans, this is what we want, and not only what we want, but what we expect when we watch Star Wars.
Dave Filloni for Star Wars president please.
Star Wars: The Clone Wars: Victory and Death (2020)
Wow. Ahsoka, we love you. You too, Rex.
Amazing ending. I have no words. It is everything I hoped it to be. Ahsoka is one of my favorite characters ever... We need more content from Dave Filloni. Definitely will watch this again when it comes out as a movie.
Star Wars: The Clone Wars: The Phantom Apprentice (2020)
Maul knew
Maul had forseen it all. Ahsoka, you are who Rey had to be.
Star Wars: The Clone Wars: The Wrong Jedi (2013)
"I know"
Might be the most emotional I ever got in Star Wars. I love you Ahsoka.
After Life: Episode #2.6 (2020)
Life in 3 words: It Goes On
Very good season finale of a very good second season of a very good series. Ricky Gervais is truly an amazing talent. The writing is superb, the humor great, the directing very good and the acting is amazing.
Very emotional.
It's a good ending for the show in my opinion, but I wouldn't mind a third season. Looking forward to more work by Gervais
Nocturnal Animals (2016)
Unique
I can't really describe it. Unique is the one word that comes to my mind.
One of the best thrillers I have watched in the past few years.
Anyone who appreciate film even a little bit needs to watch this one and experience it by themselves.
A quick word about the acting: it is fantastic. But I expected that to be fair, Jake Gyllenhaal, Amy Adams are great as always. Michael Shannon truly shines, I always thought he is one of the most underrated actors out there. Surprised by Aaron Taylor and his performance, really good as well.
Seriously, go watch it.
A Walk in the Woods (2015)
Heartwarming
A Walk In The Woods is the perfect film to watch on a cold winternight.
The film is about an older man, a writer, that feels like he needs to go on a long hike through nature to find his roots. His wife won't let him go alone, so she obligates him to find someone who is willing to go with him. Nobody he calls wants to join him, until an old friend calls him.
The two couldn't be more different and that's what makes this film so wholesome.
The acting absolutely great, Robert Redford does great, but Nick Nolte is just as good.
Music choice: perfect. If the film by itself didn't give you a warm feeling already, the combination with the music most certainly will.
This is the perfect film to watch with your family during the winterdays, altough it still will be great in the summer obviously.
8/10
Star Wars: Episode IX - The Rise of Skywalker (2019)
It was really good
People will give this film bad reviews without even watching it. It is just popular to hate on star wars films now.
I personally loved it.
It is fast paced, thrilling and exciting form beginning till end. This movie will put a big fat smile on your face if you love the franchise.
My advice, go watch it, then make up your mind and write a review. Don't just give it 1 star without watching it, that doesn't help anyone.
Joker (2019)
Astonishing
Where to start...
I had high expectations for this one, it was even better than I anticipated.
When I first heard they were going to make an origin story for the Joker, I was sceptical. But boy, did they deliver. This film is instantly in my top 5 favorite films, it might be my very favorite, close with Shawshank Redemption.
Joaquin Phoenix is truly wonderful, and he really deserves an oscar for this one.
My prediction is, it wins the oscars for Best actor, Best directing, Best adapted screenplay, and will be nominated for Cinematography and for Best score.
If you are even a little interested in watching this film, do it. You will not regret it.
This film will go down as a classic.
Well done to everyone who worked on it.
Captain Phillips (2013)
One of Hanks' best performances yet, great movie.
I watched this movie because Tom Hanks was in it, so it already had to be at least okay. Oh boy. This movie went beyond all my expectations. Truly one of the best, most exciting and thrilling movies I have ever seen in my life.
When I read the description, I thought the movie was going to be pretty slow paced and I thought it was going to have an exciting and suspenseful ending, but nothing more.
This movie took of on minute 10 or so, from there until the ending... non-stop suspenseful, thrilling, well acted and directed scenes with a great cast. To think that some of Somalis had never done a movie before... unbelievable. Imagine: it's your first ever part in a movie, it already stars Tom Hanks, in my opinion one of the greatest actors of all time, and you have to be intimidating and scaring him all movie long.
There wasn't a single moment in this movie where I got bored.
Also, let me just talk about that ending scene. So Spoilers from here.
The moment they shoot everyone in the boat, and Captain Phillips is hanging there blindfolded, and you hear nothing but the Captain, who doesn't know what happened... I thought: 'okay, wow, so that was the most intense part piece of movie I have seen in a long time'. Then they get him of the boat and take him to safety... The doctors start to examine him, and try to talk to him... Boy, the moment he breaks... I got tears in my eyes. And that doesn't happen to often. The way Tom Hanks acted made it look so real, so gripping. He should have won an oscar for that scene alone.
So that's my review. A thrilling, gripping, exciting, well acted masterpiece. Truly something else this.
Christmas Inheritance (2017)
Great CHRISTMAS movie, don't expect an Oscar worthy picture, it's a Christmas movie, with all the cliché's, and it knows that.
This is a great Christmas movie to watch with your whole family. It has the cliché's of a Christmas movie, and it' s very cheasy sometimes, like you expect and want from a family Christmas movie.
The story is predictable, but enjoyable, and you can just watch without thinking about anything.
The acting is good, nothing outstanding, Eliza Taylor did great in my opinion, it's nice to see her in a whole different genre than the 100. The rest of the cast is good to.
I don't really understand the 5.7 rating here on IMDB. What did everyone expect when they watched this movie? It's exactly what I expected it to be, and that's why I watched it. If this isn't your thing, don't watch it. You know what to expect when you watch a movie like this.
So if you wanted to watch this movie because you wanted a cheasy family Christmas movie, watch it. Don't let the bad reviews stop you from doing so. They're ridiculous in my opinion.
The 100: Damocles: Part Two (2018)
Possibly the best episode so far.
Really, really good episode. Maybe the best one yet. At first I thought it was a great episode, great action scenes and tension, but not out of this world.
Then the last 20 minutes or so started, I was on the edge of my seat the entire time, and right when I thought it was going to end, it didn't. The ending was really good and was just so full of emotion. And of course the great twist at the end...
10/10, this episode alone is a reason to watch the show.
