#Followme (2019)
Simply the worst
After 10 minutes I wanted to pop into town to pick up a rope and a stool. I have honestly never been more annoyed at the shrieking of 3 mindless women in my life, and I've spent a fair bit of time in pubs and clubs in less than desirable English towns and cities. Even if the script and acting weren't utterly atrocious, the annoyingness of the 3 women still makes this an unwatchable mess. Would give 0 stars if I could. Terrible. Imagine being a writer or director involved with this "film" and having to be credited for this dumpster fire for the rest of your life. Sheesh!
The Flood (2019)
It was.... Disappointing
Unlike a lot of the US reviewers who insist on turning everything into a red vs blue, left vs right, baby vs baby political argument, I really couldn't care less if it's biased to a particular political view. It's a movie.
With that said I sat down to watch this full of high hopes. Precisely why, I have no idea. I thought Lena would be so much better. I thought the movie itself would be engaging and thought provoking. It isn't. It's a slow moving, boring, throwaway movie. The ending was telegraphed from the very first minute of film and the predictability of the piece takes away from the little "good" that the movie offers along the way. I expect to see this movie on the shelves of Poundland soon.
I personally wasn't moved or even entertained by the subject matter at all. Still. It's not a 1 star movie. But it's impossible for me to award more than 3. A bad effort :(.
Brendan Schaub: You'd Be Surprised (2019)
Massive fan of TFATK and K&TS, but....
Before seeing this, I felt like a lot of the reviews were from salty people that Schaub had blocked on social media platforms. Also, I stumbled upon the subbreddit for TFATK, and it's full of people hating on Brendan so naturally I thought a lot of the negativity was originating from there. But, as a member of neither of those exclusive clubs, I have to say that I was super disappointed after watching. I wanted to laugh my ass off and love this special and then go tell everyone about how great it is. I was quite simply dumbfounded with how bad this was. Some of the things he says on podcasts have me in tears laughing, so I don't know how it didn't translate at all in this special. Super bummed about it. However, the silver lining here is that he's not been in the comedy game for too long and will get better. As an outsider looking in, it would make sense if he was surrounded by yes men. If that's the case I can understand why this is such a poor representation of Brendan's comedic qualities. I can't stand the amount of hate Brendan gets but I have to tell the truth. What else ya got Chin?
