Quintuplets (2004)
No morals, no standards and no conclusion
I was disappointed by this show. A sitcom about quintuplets and the trials and tribulations between them and their parents. With most new sitcoms i decided to give this one a chance. I watched a few episodes and found that a lot of the episodes were left open ended, but not for dramatic effect, it was almost like everything was rushed because they ran out of airtime.
Most teen programmes have morals as well almost like "learning curves" but this one doesn't, its almost as if anything goes, such as bigamy, as their next door neighbour has two partners! This becomes quite frustrating after a while.
I appreciate that this show is handling something totally different and trying a different approach but to what expense? Yes, its funny at times but not brilliant.
Red Eye (2005)
How can anyone think this film is remotely good?!!!!
Red Eye is such a "flat' film there is no conclusion. All we know is that Cillian Murphy wants to kill a politician and he wants Racheal McAdams to help him on his quest otherwise her father will be killed. While I was in the cinema watching this thriller I felt quite detached from the characters because there was no development whatsoever. I felt quite frustrated. Mcadams showed no real concern for her father but seemed to care more about the politician and her colleague. Don't get me wrong there are some good and shocking bits and Murphy is convincing as the 'baddy' but overall this film does not pass as a good movie! The film had so much potential and what i think it was lacking was an explanation, a storyline and a conclusion. It was a typical American movie, where good conquers all and all is right with the world. What a load of fluff!!!!!!!! The ending was so corny, I just felt that the whole film needed a bit more umph and pizazz!!! i was quite upset as well because I wasted £6 on a stupid film, but you will have to be the judge as we all have different tastes in movies! But on your head be it!!!!
Good Will Hunting (1997)
Wow, what a beautiful film!!!
I was amazed by this film. A story of a young man ,who has a brilliant mind, but finds it easier to use his fists in any situation. I was very engrossed by this film, especially when Damon, the main character and Williams, his psychiatrist have sessions together, discussing Hunting's painful past. The romance between Minnie Driver's character and Matt Damon's is very gentle, which helps the audience to relate t them as characters. The only thing I objected to was the amount of unnecessary use of swearing. Swearing is often used for dramatic impact and effect or to portray the society in which a film is set , but I found the fact that every other word was a swear word quite off putting and useless. Other than that I found the film enjoyable and humorous in just the right places. My favourite part is the scene with Williams and Damon where both men embrace and Damon's emotional barrier is cracked, allowing him to be liberated from his brutal past. Affleck's part is easily as important as Hunting's friend. Such sensitivity. What a beauty!!!!!!!!
The Cheetah Girls (2003)
Cheetah girls was so lame
Cheetah girls is a film about four girls, who aim to be singers. The characters are not rounded enough to carry this type of film through. I know that Americans do have the tendency to be quite cheesy, but there's absolutely no excuse for this film. Raven, who plays the main role is terrible, the girls as a whole are distant, meaning that the audience do not get to relate to them, as singes or teenage girls. It can be said that all the actors try their best but the film itself is totally cringe worthy. The songs are pathetic and the ending leaves something to be desired. For those who consider quality acting and a good script as a fundamental part of making a great film should stay away from this movie. But those who like a lame film to end a complex and frustrating day by all means watch this.
