Mockingbird Lane (2012 TV Movie)
10/10
The Munsters reincarnate, well worth your time!
11 June 2021
Having been around for the original shows (Shown in Australia) and loved the late Fred Gwynne and Al Lewis and the rest of the cast, I find that this version. Mockingbird Lane has the same chemistry with the new cast members as the original show.

How refreshing to grasp the Idea of a new Munster series, then finding that though you are expecting Herman, Lilly, Grandpa, Marilyn, & Eddie you get them with some explanation of how they got to this point with tight quips and delightful bouncing off each other.

An all new cast has to be different enough from the original but surprising enough to compel you to discover what comes next and hook you in.

This pilot did that very quickly, I found myself eagerly wanting more.

To do this on the first episode / pilot movie left me Hungry for what comes next I could only imagine how the characters could grow and evolve into the roles given.

Yet another brilliantly refreshing reimagining of an old favourite classic, nipped in the bud by TV execs who don't know their audience and worry more about corporate profits.

What a sadly missed opportunity for some Original American Descent humour.
