I just finishing watching this movie and I'm a little stunned after some of the reviews. I thought it was a wonderful Movie for me. I also am from Seattle, but half dozens years younger than He. First , Andre was EXCELLENT as I suspected .
For me the Movie explained a lot of back ground for his life. As the title says," All is by my side". I believe for Jimi, life was something that happened when he wasn't playing. Mr. Hendrix had trouble communicating with words and music was his way to speak to the world.
I watched each scene as its own story. And didn't think of it as a lineal story. Like the scene where he is picking at his face. From that, we know he was shy and self-conscious of his looks. Or his fierce independence, He would wear something he liked whether it looked masculine or not. The St. Pepper scene showed us his genius.
This movie is for someone who wants to look below the surface of their Hero and maybe understand his actions a little better. Thanks for reading this,jim
