It's a pretty good horror movie, I think people aren't realizing that the comedic side of the old movies was left in the old movies. 2013 and this movie are obviously supposed to be more serious adaptations of the old movies. Aside from that, it had some pretty unpredictable jump scares and unique dialogue amongst the characters. There's tense moments where you have no idea what may happen, and who it might happen to. The faces also absolutely terrify me, the eyes, the unsettling smiles, and all the blood definitely makes this a movie i'll watch again. I'm thinking about watching 2013 as well as this one in order to see if they give off the same energy or not. As far as I could tell watching Evil Dead Rise for my first time, it definitely checked the same boxes as the 2013 film.
