It's more an expansion than a full sequel
13 April 2006
I picked up a copy of Earned in Blood a week ago, and I'm not done yet. But so far, it feels basically like a story continuation of Road to Hill 30. Of course, AI and the upgrades are there, but unlike some sequels like Halo 2, which turned into a completely new game: completely different graphics, some completely new weapons...

But if you loved the first, the second is a must buy.

If you're a World War 2 fan, this is for you. If you like tactical shooters, this is for you. If you like Run 'n Gun... well, you can always learn to love it, like me. I went from a hardcore Halo player, to a more strategic and slower-paced Brothers and Arms.

Medal of Honor: Frontline (2002 Video Game)
9/10
True cinematic experience... One you don't come across everday.
4 February 2006
You climb a flight of stairs, sniper rifle in hand. Half the building is blown away, but you continue looking for the perfect perch. Coming up behind an enemy Nazi, he turns around just to see you clobber him squarely in the face, and as he tries to rise, you finish him off with another blow. You step over the body, and set your sights. Down below, a score of Germans are battling with Allied forces. You mark your target, and squeeze the trigger. An officer takes the bullet, and his cap flies off. Directly across the alleyway, a Nazi sniper turns and raises his rifle. Another quick round silences him. Below, a German soldier turns to make a break for the machine gun a few metres away. Your rifle barks again, and the targets flips forward. He gets up painstakingly, and finally, you pull the trigger. His falls back, muttering his last words. You load a new magazine, and gaze into the rubble-filled streets of Arnhem.

Medal of Honor Frontline is a game that takes you beyond D-Day, and as it states, right into the Frontlines. Each level is beautifully done. This game proves that you don't need special effects and all that for it to be a great game.

A complete recommendation to all shooter fans.

Medal of Honor: Rising Sun (2003 Video Game)
Almost, but no cigar.
4 February 2006
When I bought it, it was one of my first MOH experiences. The opening title of 'Rising Sun' captured my attention. I'll admit it is a disappointment to some of the Medal of Honor fans. To just an ordinary buyer, it'll keep you entertained for a few hours. Compared to Frontline, it just doesn't have the same feel. In Frontline, many people who've never played it before assume that since it's a World War 2 game, it must have blood to be good, or extreme violence... But those death-animations and the tragic music to accompany is much more than anything. In which, Rising Sun doesn't have. It just doesn't seem like a war game... It isn't a horrible game, but to any Medal of Honor fan, it doesn't amount to the legacy Frontline left.

EDIT: After playing it again, I feel kinda... swindled. On some of those Jungle missions, it's not a forest. After looking again, the forest and trees are just a texture on a flat surface. I just feel ashamed for paying 50 big ones for such game.
