Around the World in 80 Days (2021)
So enjoyable to watch
You may not like the very obvious twisting of the original book nor like the "woke" characters but please open your mind for the fantastic scenery and scenes , the very authentic atmosphere created on the locations the group visited. And the superior match of David Tennant and his role in this comedy.
Because yes that is what it is, a great complex humouristic setting with some very serious ingredients along the line. I fully enjoyed the funny parts while still being taken by some of the serious and thriller type scenes.
And on 'woke': it's exactly the fact that Passepartout is played by a black character without this - at any moment - being spoiled with black or white discussion. I found that so liberating.
The series is really very pleasant to look at - and yes you need to skip any logic thinking which is completely in Jules Verne's style.
Just enjoy beautiful pictures, funny and also serious moments which feel could have actually happened nevertheless.
Another Life: Through the Valley of Shadows (2019)
The reason why the average rating is above 2
Is because all remaining viewers did not care about the ridiculousness and errors in science and space technology.. nor were they bothered by the terrible dialogues and childish behaviour of the crew. At least after the mid section bullying the commander I decided to leave this series for good.
