Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (2005)
The perfect adaptation of Dahl's masterpiece
While the popular opinion generally favours the 1971 adaptation of the book I would argue that this is the far better adaptation.
First of all many people falsely call this version a 'remake' and the 1971 film the 'original' this is completely incorrect they are both adaptations of the same book Charlie and the Chocolate factory by Roald Dahl released 1964.
This movie is by far the best adaptation of the original book the movie stays true to the source material and more importantly to the nature of the characters Roald Dahl despised the 1971 film due to its mischaracterisation of several key characters and it's variations from the original this version however had Dahl's wife oversee the process and she made sure that this could be an adaptation he would be happy with.
Fawlty Towers (1975)
Best comedy in the history of Television
That is all there is too it no comedy comes close to matching the sheer hilarity of Fawlty Towers and I doubt any ever will every joke lands, every movement is comedic, every fine detail in the structure of this masterpiece is without flaw.
The incredible cast really showcase their talents to the maximum ability throughout the show as the plots often reach increasingly absurd scenarios while still feeling natural and grounded allowing for maximum hilarity.
Unlike many other comedy Fawlty Towers goes on no longer than it needed to avoiding seasonal rot.
Fawlty Towers is a cornerstone of British comedy and one of the best shows to have ever been aired by the BBC.
Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium (2007)
One of the greatest films of all time.
I simply can not fathom how anyone could not love this movie, it beautifully deals with the complex concepts of death and grief while showcasing a fun and whimsical world.
All of the actors are incredible and morph into their respective characters absolutely.
While the effects are dated by modern standards they are still of a high quality, selling the magic of the store and do not distract from the beauty of the world.
Mr Magorium's speech is an absolute masterpiece and will never fail to make me shed a tear.
"When King Lear dies in Act V, do you know what Shakespeare has written? He's written "He dies." That's all, nothing more. No fanfare, no metaphor, no brilliant final words. The culmination of the most influential work of dramatic literature is "He dies." It takes Shakespeare, a genius, to come up with "He dies." And yet every time I read those two words, I find myself overwhelmed with dysphoria. And I know it's only natural to be sad, but not because of the words "He dies." but because of the life we saw prior to the words."
10/10 would recommend to anyone.
Mighty Med (2013)
One of the best and most underrated shows in Disney's library
Mighty Med is a hilarious show with an innovative premise 9/10 jokes land it has a very strong supporting cast and some surprising celebrity cameos. Unfortunately due to money hungry execs the show never got the 3rd season it deserved and was instead incorporated into a sequel show Lab rats: Elite force that ruined the legacy and characters from both Lab Rats and especially Mighty Med this unfortunately leaves the series on a cliffhanger. But even with it's unfortunate end it still holds up as a truly great show that can be enjoyed by people of all ages.
