Godzilla (I) (1998)

A fun but frightening American Godzilla
11 August 2006
This is kinda a fun film! It really is! Matthew Broderick played in it and many other actors and actresses. Godzilla wasn't a large walking puppet in the east—Asia—but a computer roaming the west—USA. It was rather scary! A little like Jurassic Park but not really.

We saw this at the theater and had lots of laughs and fun. But we got pretty scared too! It wasn't exactly a light film but kinda dark instead. Literality, it was often night and it rained, rained and rained in the film. And that made Godzilla just as scary. I think you should see it, people, if you want fun thrills and chills from an American Godzilla.

A poor fantasy that should have stayed an obsessive board game
11 August 2006
Warning: Spoilers
This movie was corny! It deserves a turkey! It was so low budget! Jeremy Irons was cheesy in this one. The rest of the cast was just as cheap. The special effects were lousy. Oh! I forgot the story! What type of imbecilic group of people would make such a raunchy film based off of such an unpleasant obsessive board game? One point, one the heroes named Snail gets killed. I mean that's beastly! And in the end the good guys turn into sprinkles—stardust—and fly away. That's stupid! This film is sooooo poor. It's sad, really! I hope that was enough clever adjectives to make you not see this "off" movies. But if you want to see it, well it's your life. I can't control you, but that was my advice.

Groundhog Day (1993)
7/10
It is fun and funny
13 May 2006
Groundhog Day is a fun and funny film! We don't own it when I ever have the chance to see it or something, I usually do. I'm not going to write what the story is about this time but I will write how Bill Murray does a hilarious job. Well, whenever he wakes up and discovers its still Groundhog Day, you just feel how he feels. He's so good at it. You feel so sorry for him. And then how he goes through each Groundhog Day is just so funny with Bill Murray. How he puts up with it all and struggles and struggles! I don't want to spoil anything this time so I better stop here.

But I defiantly recommended seeing this movie because all you need to know about this movie this that Bill Murray is super funny, people!

I'm lovin' those goslings
10 May 2006
(By the way, if you don't know, a gosling is a baby goose) Anna Paquin (she played Rogue in X-Men) stars as Amy Alden in this very good film. Amy, whose mother died in a car accident, now lives with her father Thomas Alden (Jeff Daniels) in a serene area away from the city. One day, Amy goes for a walk and finds several large eggs. She takes them and cares for them as best as she can. They actually hatch and several Canadian goslings are born! Thomas discovers them but decides to keep them, for he wants to make his daughter happy since her mother died. She raises them up but now they are grow and need to learn how to fly. Amy and her father use some sort of little plane to teach them how. But will the two successfully lead the geese toward their new permanent home? You just have to rent or buy this movie and find out! Enough about the story, I'll tell how I feel about it. Even though I'm giving it a 7, it's still really a good movie. It's not the best movie in the whole wide world but it's still good. It has calm nice music and the acting is good too. Well, I have always liked this film and I recommend you see it! Plus, the goslings are really adorable!!

It's kinda neat!
11 March 2006
One day, this movie was on and nobody was watching it but a few of us pay a little attention to it and watched the whole thing. It was kinda neat! Though it was kinda boring, you know it wasn't my type of style. But it was kinda fun! It starred Holly Hunter, John Goodman and Richard Dreyfus.

It's about Richard Dreyfus as a fire-fighter Cessna pilot who dies before he could ever express his love for his fellow Cessna pilot played by Holly Hunter. If you don't know, a Cessna is like a miniature airplane, so there. But he returns as a ghost and follows her around. He sees her go through hardships and sometimes he gets jealous himself because men start to flirt with her since he's gone. But some points, he wishes he could give her some advice.

You probably know that this movie was made by the famous Steven Spielberg. So, no wonder I got so pulled in when I watched it by, you could say, accident. Whoever likes these actors and actresses and likes Spielberg's films ought to see this one?

Scooby-Doo (2002)

Scooby Doo is stupidoo!
11 March 2006
Warning: Spoilers
I have always liked the original Scooby Doo, and when I heard that there was going to be a live-action movie of it, I thought that sounded kinda cool. But when I saw it, it was nothing like the original Scooby Doo. It was terrible… It was also very poor. The story was so idiotic. It went like this: the gang breaks up or something, then they win these tickets to an island and then rejoin and solve that the mystery culprit there all along was Scrappy Doo. But I kinda liked Scrappy. Why did they make him a bad guy? I guess people that he was annoying. The acting was so and so, the animation: to see a Great Dane go all computery, big deal. The music I forgot. So, over all, each film department stank, sorry! I was so embarrassed when I saw this film. It was nothing like Scooby Doo at all. There were lame jokes, dumb emotional scenes and all, yucky bathroom humor (BLECH!) and lots more thrash. So don't see it! It was so bad.

It was a little too good!
5 March 2006
yes, yes, it was just too good! I absolutely loved it! You should see it! and its music...oh! too good to be true! I know this is all so quick but its all true! voices were terrific, too. My opinion, its probably better than Spirited Away.

Diana Wynne Jones wrote the fantastic book, and Hayao Miyazaki made this incredible anime masterpiece cartoon. Its about a young woman named Sophie who is change by the Witch of Waste and turns into a 100 year-old woman. forced to leave her mother's hat shoppe, she sets out to find a cure or even find the Witch again to settle things back to normal. but along the way, meets the handsome but wicked Howl the wizard who is cursed by also an evil spell who also lives in a gigantic moving castle charged but the fire demon Calcifer. Not long, she is living & working with them but also getting involved with tough situations in their lives, especially with Howl's... but, in fact, Sophie is falling in love with him! so maybe Howl isn't so wicked after all. could love break both Sophie's & Howl's curse? could it just possibly stop the war Ingary, the land they live in, is having? well, you'll just have to watch it & find out! it may be confusing but, don't worry, I'll give you a quick spoiler: the story is a lot like world war II!

anyway, I highly recommend you see this, for both children & adults!

pretty good!!
5 March 2006
Thats one word for it: pretty good! well, just the other day, i saw it, and you know, its not a bad movie. in space time, it still follows the story very well. for Jim's character, Joseph Gordon-Levitt matches him pretty well. And Brian Murray does just as good of a job for long Jonh Silver. but space time for Treasure Island is not bad at all! I liked how they "evolved" some things a notch or two. like the Hawkins stayed human, but like Dr. Doppler is a dog, and Arrow was made of stone, and the captain was a female cat, Ben was a malfunctioning robot, and Silver was like a cyborg human. See, thats kinda cool. like there was no ocean to move around in, but outer space itself, that where they docked off, cool! but it was'nt the most perfect family movie, Disney could have lay low on the "bathroom humor", but thats how Hollywood gets its kicks, but there was'nt too much of it, don't worry. action was good, at the end: great! ooh... did i spoil it? music was not my type of style, but was good, if you like rock-like music, fine. if you don't, fine. anyway, it was a good movie over all, so maybe you should get it. yeah, maybe you should! if you want a good Treasure Island kick with your kids!

The Village (2004)
10/10
Particularly passionate
5 March 2006
This movie was made by M. Night Shyamalan, and is a most "particularly" good movie. Its about a village based in about pioneer ages, and their pretty happy out in their forest surrounded neighborhood. But there's only one problem, there there's mythical beasts out in the woods, their very intelligent but do not come into the village if you don't come into there forest. The people have always lived like this and always will. Sometimes, strong people have to guard the entrance of the woods just in case, they also wear yellow because it drives the monsters away…but, to your horror, the monsters are attracted by the color red. No one must ever wear red, if you find a red berry or flower or just something red, bury it. Of course, people normally get ill, and rare brave people ask the "elders" if they can go to the other "villages" across the forest to get medicine to stop sicknesses & even death sense it's a poor village because it might happen a lot. The Stars are Lucius Hunt (played by Joaquin Phoenix) & the main Star heroine, Ivy Walker (played by Bryce Dallas Howard, she's new). Lucius hardly talks to anyone and Ivy is blind. I better stop here so that I wont go telling the end of the story and spoil it all J. but, I really absolutely positively recommend seeing this movie because its one of the best movies ever, best music (I can say that again! No kidding!), best acting (wow!! Yeah!), well, best everything! Its really THAT good, Mr. Shyamalan is really & truly a wonderful film maker for beauty & scariness!! Thank you, M. Night Shyamalan!!!

I'll make it simple: I LOVE THIS MOVIE!!!
5 March 2006
Well, Wishbone's got a movie---a great one! It used to be a t. v. series but ended long ago, but I believe this was the last of it: the movie. I'll try and keep the synopsis short. It's about Wanda Gilmore becoming a "hero" of Oakdale but a sneaky news reporter for, some reason, claims that she is actually the "town tyrant" because of her job, the Oakdale Chronicles newspaper. Will her career crumble before her? But Wishbone has a nose for these type of things, we hope he will somehow solve the real truth behind things! You just have to see it and find out! Of course, wishbone always has a tale to tell. This time, he tells us the stories of O. Henry's short stories of Long Bill Longley. In Chaparosa, Texas, no one is better at taming the land then Longley and his best friend Tom Merwin. But, with the ruffian Calliope making mischief in town, Longley & Merwin are quite a match for this scoundrel. But can they really do this? See it and find out! I say it again I love this movie, absolutely love it! You should really see it! But it's nearly a decade old so it may be hard to find and I don't think they'll bring it out again. But, actually, try and find it at your local library, it's a high chance it's there, because the library usually holds older videos. But its really great, my favorite!!

I cant believe everyone!
5 March 2006
Grr! Why does everyone love this show?! Everyone i know is so fond of this show. okay, first of all, I don't loathe this show but its just so weird, okay? Its uncomfortable, yeah, thats it. Well, I'm not trying to discourage you in any way possible, I'm sorry if I did but its just I'm disgusted with pretty much all nickelodeon shows, even some of Disney's & cartoon network's series. Thats how I always was about some certain shows. Just some are A-O-K... And some are so "gross", get it now!? Its just, is Sponge Bob cute or annoying toward people or what? what are they thinking?? both!? Grr! he's just so weird & annoying to me! its my opinion alone, thank you very much, and you cant change it. Patrick, Gary, Squid---whatever!! are just so...WEIRD! oh yea! heres another thing, sometimes Sponge Bob is not wearing any clothes... on purpose!... that is...W-R-O-N-G!!! I don't like it & its totally wrong! 2 things, okay?! I hope I taught you that this show is way off innocence & is totally not "rocking cool" or whatever but, what I think, WRONG! its WRONG! WRONG!! WRONG!!!

Merlin (1998)
8/10
This king Arthur tale is worth-watching!
3 March 2006
Yes, it's a king Arthur story, but it's mainly about Merlin, hence the name of the film. But that what makes it a great film, you get to see all of Merlin's life, from birth to… well, no exactly death, since he's a wizard… I better not spoil the end…

Samuel Neill plays Merlin, the sorcerer, and Miranda Richardson plays the pagan priestess, Mab. She also does the voice for the Lady of the Lake. The cast also contains Helena Bonham Carter, Martin Short and the voice of James Earl Jones for the Mountain King. In front of Merlin's eyes, Arthur (Curran) grows up and pulls Excalibur out of the stone, like the original legend. But before Arthur, Merlin lives his own life. At a young age, he falls in love Nimue (Rossellini), but his love does not stop for her even at an old age. He goes through many struggles with many kings, but finally Arthur is his success.

I got this movie when I was pretty young, and my family and I have also liked this movie. So you should go find it and see it. Yeah, it's worth-watching!

brilliant, but a little undeveloped
25 January 2006
It was very good, it was brilliant, but it was a little undeveloped and a little rushed. Well, it is a very long book, so they had to pile a lot in. I understand. They did'nt want to make two films, but I would'nt have minded though. They could have done it, but they did'nt. Plus they did'nt let all new characters developed completely. So that's what I mean by "undeveloped" and "rushed".

But what I mean by "very good" and "brilliant" is that it really "was" a good film--you know it, too. I liked it because it was finally "The Goblet Of Fire". Finally this book was turned into a film, finally. The book was my favorite (okay, I did'nt read it, my brother told me "everything" about it when "he" read it). Yes, yes it was rushed and all but I really really liked it. So that what The Goblet Of Fire looks like as a film, hah. I wonder if J.K. Rowling would have liked it, well you don't know what you don't know. Even though the new characters of this film were'nt exactly developed, the actors and actresses did a very good job, every one of them.

So do I recommend this film for you? Yes, yes I do. Because if you see one "Harry Potter", you'll have to see them all. And plus this one is probably the most important of all of them so far. Yep, yes it is. So you ought to see it, people, even though it is a little "undeveloped" and "rushed". It is still a brilliant film.

We walk through the wonderful wardrobe at long last!
28 December 2005
What I mean by that is that C. S. Lewis' The Lion, The Witch And The Wardrobe is FINALLY on big screen. I'm so happy and relieved.

I very much loved the film. Immediately, I say go see it. I say it is an INSTANT classic. Everything, honestly, about this film is wonderful: The acting, the music, the animation, the scenery, etc. See, I'm not displeased at all.

I always loved the BCC form of The Lion, The Witch And The Wardrobe and the cartoon. but it was so truly cool to see it like this. If Mr. Lewis was still alive, I... believe he would really like this one.

Now the actors and actresses were all very excellent. The children and teenagers who played the four Pevensies (Henley, Popplewell, Keynes, Moseley) are very good at acting, really. Swinton makes a perfect fit for the tall, calm and cruel Jadis, the White Witch. And Neeson does a wonderful job for the voice of the divine, strong but loving Aslan, the lion and the King of Narnia.

I'm so pleased with everything about this film and, most of all, just happy Narnia's has gone to theaters after all this time and I hope they will make the fellow sequel books into films too. Here they are: Prince Caspian, The Voyage Of The Dawn Treader, The Silver Chair, The Horse And His Boy, The Magician's Nephew and The Last Battle. Its absolutely an excellent film, please see it with your family... And if you don't know, there are secrets deeper into the story then you think, huh? Try to find them out.

Corpse Bride (2005)
8/10
Immediate classic, one of the best!
14 October 2005
This films is truly a immediate classic, plus it's so beautifully made, well organized, and just the best. Even though Tim Burton has made some dark films in the past, this a truly less dark. The story is based in France or England where a shy young man, Victor (Depp), is going to be married. His fiancé is Victoria (Watson) a pretty nice girl who has the meanest parents. At the rehearsal of their wedding, Victor is so nervous, he forgets all his vows. So they cancel the rehearsal till he learns and remembers them. One point, he is in the night of the forest, practicing them. He has the ring with him. He finishes his vows correctly, then puts the ring on a twig as if he were putting it on Victoria's finger. But by doing that, the twig was a rotten finger, thus he resurrects the beautiful but dead Corpse Bride. She is now his legal wife! He is terrified for a few days but starts to get used to her. Even though she's dead, she loves him. But Victor is worried about Victoria, who he should have married. What will happen to Victoria? What will happen to Victor? What will happen to the mysterious but lovely Corpse Bride? This is really an exciting story, it's a little grim but lots of fun. Well, I recommend you see it if you like ghost stories. But this is for all ages, kids will love it I bet. There's lots of singing (which is fantastic), dancing (skeletons actually dance), and well-picked actors for this movie. Back to music, Danny Elfman did an amazing job, the music is grim but so fantastic. It's really a wonderful film! Tim Burton did an amazing job on this one, its such a classic already!
