The 100 (2014)
According to the show, humans should have never survived
The premise of the show is quite good, but why is every single character mind-numbingly stupid. Every decision, small or big, is idiotic. Not one instance of basic common sense, all events are basically people acting against their personal and collective interests!? Every situation leads to violence, murder, torture.. everybody is out for revenge, in the most shortsighted way possible. Grievances are the only motivation behind every move. Humans are basically whiny creatures who cannot wait to jump the gun and shoot themselves in the foot. My only explanation is that, the world ending catastrophe that led to the orbital station colony, must have resulted in a sharp drop in IQ, as Ripley would have said. Such species must be finished off, not helped to regenerate and multiply!?
From: The Kindness of Strangers (2023)
Suspense is not the same as frustration
A whole episode wasted on annoying repetition, rather than intrigue and discovery. Both characters and plot took several steps backwards. There was no need for the viewer to endure yet another bunch of characters, going from denial to acceptance, the whole first season was just about that. There was little to no plot advancement, things just happen as expected. Characters lost resilience and IQ. Everybody is behaving like the moron who gets killed in a 80's slasher movie. Lazy writing and horror cliches, such as 'fear induced stupidity', are ruining this show. I hope future episodes will get better. I'm sick of journeys to nowhere.
Resident Evil (2022)
First sequence says it all
I couldn't get past the first five minutes. If the opening act was so bad, I knew the rest would only get worse. I don't know what happens in the creative process to end up with such insulting outcome. So much money is getting thrown at the wrong projects, when there are so many great stories waiting to be told, it's depressing.
The Following (2013)
Great production, horrible writing.
The show has a nice general plot, but the details are frustratingly simplistic. It is excruciating to suspend your disbelief when every episode portrays the fbi, the swat teams, and other seemingly intelligent protagonists, as a bunch of clowns. This is repeated over and over again. Everyone involved is basically an 8 years old child with no experience, common sense, or self preservation. However the acting and cinematography are good. So if you choose to watch this, you'll be eating a dish prepared by a great chef, but using the worse ingredients.
The I-Land (2019)
Someone commissioned and paid for this?
Why was this made? There are millions of stories out there looking for a platform to support them, yet executives that are devoid of taste or human emotions, keep on financing the worse hallow garbage to meet their targets.
Ghostland (2018)
Chilling
When it comes to true horror, forget about Hollywood. It takes outsiders, daring independents, or foreign productions, to take you to the darkest places. The result is scary.
Slender Man (2018)
Really horrific
A terrible non-story that will rob you of 90 minutes, leaving with an empty soul and a numbed brain. After watching this movie you will wonder what went wrong in your life so you would waste an hour and a half looking at this cinematic adoration. Thus, the movie achieved actual real horror. Two stars for some good acting and decent CGI.
The Predator (2018)
Why?
What a pile of horse manure. I want my 90 minutes back!
Game of Thrones: The Iron Throne (2019)
Mediocre, idiotic, and arrogant
I regret watching season 8. I felt let down and betrayed. The time and emotions I invested in this story were a waste. Nothing made sense. I know real life can be hopeless, ugly, and unfair. The reason I immerse myself in story is to look for hope, beauty, reward. The creators of game of thrones, were arrogant and violated the trust of their fans. They exceeded their remit as story tellers, and went on a egoistic and self-important journey to..mediocrity. The WWII simplistic allegory was especially laughable and ironic, getting drunk with power and blinded by previous success, is exactly what happened to the show makers.
