Michael Jackson's Halloween (2017 TV Movie)

I can't believe MJ's estate thought this is what fans want
30 January 2022
Instead of listening to the fans they really want were like yeah let's make some bizarre Halloween movie with a lame plot and bunch of Michael Jackson references and music throughout. I honestly don't know what happened in this movie... I don't understand.

I can't believe just how bad this was
26 November 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Wow. The plot. The writing. The romances. So bad. I can't believe someone actually wrote this movie, and somehow managed to get it made. Why would someone write this and think it's ok? And who in their right mind read this script and actually thought it would be a good idea to turn it into a movie?

The romances in here are what not to do in a relationship and what not to look for in a romantic partner. There are so many obvious red flags. Unsound financial decisions. Clinging onto to the memories of your ex. Lying to spend time with someone (instead being honest and asking them out). Shoplifting to get someone to notice you because you like them. Dropping thousands of dollars to pay the loan of someone you've been dating for like a week. Yet all these couples still get together.

Andi Mack (2017–2019)

This is a show that I needed when I was in middle school
9 September 2021
This show didn't come out until I was out of high school and that's when I started watching it, and it instantly brought out my inner 13 y/o. I fell in love with the show from the first episode; it's very good and well done. There is a lot difficult topics that this show covers in a good way so that kids can understand.

When I started watching this show, I realized this was the very first time in my life where I felt racially and ethnically represented in any media. All of a sudden, I could relate to a main character like I never have before. And I didn't realize how much I needed that until I started watching this. Growing up in America, as someone who is part white and Chinese and experienced both cultures meshed together, sometimes, I felt like an outsider. There wasn't other people like me that I knew or saw in media. But then Andi Mack comes along, and I don't know how to describe it, but it felt good to be able to see myself in a character.

Also there was another character that hit home for me. He experiences anxiety and they portray it really well; what it is like to feel that. In middle school I didn't know that's what I was going through or that's what it was called.

The main theme of this show is growth and change. That's ok to go out of your comfort zone and that change can be good, even though that it's hard. When I was 13, I didn't know that and that's something I needed to start learning. That's good lesson to start learning young, and this show does a good job of showing that.

The one thing I didn't like as much about the show, is that they seemed to focus a little too much on these middle schoolers dating. Maybe things have changed in the last few years since I was in middle school, but I don't remember that really being the focus of most kids at that age. Some kids were dating but it seemed most kids had more of a focus on just having fun and being with friends.

If you love movies without a good plot, this is for you
19 September 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Plot? What's plot? Evidently something not here. Let's just throw people into the middle of the conflict. skip two years and not explain why. Then throw in senseless killing and things not adding up. And instead of coming up with a cool new solution, just get Flash to do what happened Flashpoint. Except, don't show his time travels, just end it right there.

What the heck?
18 September 2019
I have to compare this to the book right here. And the book was 12x better. This movie ruined a perfectly good book. Just changed and left out things that were important to the plot, making the movie a simple romance when it could have been SO MUCH MORE. I wanted Ponytail Daniel. Did I get him? NO. The ending in the book was beautiful, what did we get here? An oh-let's-end-the-movie-now kind of ending. Sure, go watch this if you want to waste 2 hours of your life, because you have no life. Man, the movie had such potential to be better.

Basically an Episode Story but better
14 September 2019
So when I saw the description and trailer on Netflix, I was like, that sounds like an Episode story I read. Then I watched it I'm into those kind of stories, and it did basically have the same plot as that Episode story, with a few minor detail changes. But this movie was better. Music. Pretty people. Character development. Solid ending. And I loved, loved Jodi's outfit at the end.

Seriously, everything was leading up to this?

This was a terrible movie, no one and convince me otherwise. Over hyped and with a poor storyline. There were some good moments and scenes, sure. But overall? No. Just no.

Better than the movie

I could watch this show again and again and not get bored. I enjoy. Where as the movies, I would probably not watch again.

Surprisingly good
20 March 2019
I saw how the overall rating wasn't that great and the subject matter of teen pregnancy, and thought this would probably be a terrible movie, and decided to watch it any way. I was surprised how great it turned out. This is dramatic, but it is the kind I like, where what happens is believable. I thought the main characters did a great job acting. In the description it calls this a comedy, I feel this is not an apt description. If you are looking for a romantic comedy, this isn't it.

A Good Movie
10 December 2018
Overall, I liked it. I think there was a good message portrayed. It's one of those feel-good kinda movies. But, um, what up with the fake southern accents? I live in Texas, I have lived in Texas my entire life, from experience I can tell you we do not have southern accents, even fake ones. So that part of the movie confused me, and felt very culturally inaccurate. Maybe some research could have been done in the accent department. Also never knew what a drag queen was before this movie... I think Millie was the best character in the movie.

Left me on the edge of my seat
13 June 2018
Warning: Spoilers
Even though I had already had read the book, I found myself watching in suspense. This show was really good at drawing my attention in, and not wanting to look away for even a second. I loved the theme music for this, I thought it was perfect. The casting for most of the characters was pretty great. Tom Hiddleston for the most part did a great job as Pine. Corcky was just how I pictured him to be. I had a problem with Angela Burr and Joel Stedman, though. Burr is male in the book, making him a pregnant female completely changes his character, and I do not like how she portrayed him. Joel is really Joseph Strindski in the book, and is supposed to be white, not black, I'm pretty sure. Joel is nothing like Joe in the book, I don't like how he seemed so soft in the show. They completely left out Joe's partner, Pat Flynn. For the most part this show was really good, and I was in love with it until like episode five. Pine was perfect until he killed Corky, and Freddie. He doesn't kill them in the book, he's not a killer. He would never let someone take the blame then kill them like he did with Corky in the show. And he would never kill someone for revenge like he does to Freddie, in the show. In the book, he makes a point of saying he doesn't hate Freddie, and how he was going to get revenge and avenge Sophie was to take down Roper's illegal dealings. And of course, there is a lot more things they left out of the show that was in the book, that I wished they included. But the main reason I gave this show such a low rating was because of the ending. It made no sense why they did what they did in the show, and it was so lame to me. Watching it was intense, just like reading the book, but the end of the show was nothing like the end of the book.
