White Rabbit Project (2016)
Sometimes beyond dangerous
Loved the program but I am so surprised that the 'hover board' did not go disastrously wrong! Now way was there enough safety features added. I would like to see an up to date version of the program with newer designs, in particularly the jet pac by Gravity Industries that is currently being assessed by the UK Military.
I hope that the crew will consider another series following the death of Grant, I was shocked and saddened to hear this.
Hyperdrive (2019)
Good idea but biased for ratings
So if you're a young girl from South Africa who family sold their own truck to get her old beat up BMW to the show, who just so happens to beat most others until the her car got flooded, you time on Hyperdrive is over. But, if you're extremely hot headed and reckless, spinning your car backwards and totalling the back end that's fine. The shows crew will work tirelessly to get you to compete again. Likewise, if you screw your donut, stall it and then the windscreen goes under the sheer weight of water on a stationary car, plus driver having to go to hospital for a check up, that's ok too. In fact they'll let her carry on from where she left off!! The show needs to have some rules in place and stick to them. Bring the girl back from SA and let her compete again.
Luke Cage (2016)
Too political for my liking
I was so looking forward to watching this but the references to black lives matter and pushing a radical Christian narrative is pathetic. Wanting to get on the current gravy train is unfortunately the way Marvel has been heading for a while. Says it all when even the kids think it's trash.
The Witches (2020)
Another timeless classic destroyed....
....by ticking the PC boxes. Why oh why are all our classics being ruined for the sake of ticking a few boxes? The original was hilarious and the kids hound it highly amusing. Unfortunately this latest remake left us looking at each with the look, you know the one, the 'was that meant to funny' look and the film just felt sort of empty. I won't spoil it by going into plots but if you've seen the original, which I advise you do, you know the plot already. Yes some of the graphics are clever but it didn't feel so immersive as the original. Another example that simplicity with good setting and humour is all kids want. Sorry, but this is just another remake for the sake of a remake. Have all writers lost the will to create something new and exciting?
Dolittle (2020)
Utter Garbage
Bad acting to go with the bad script. The CGI was amazing, but as far as the film as a whole, I'll stick with with Eddie Murphy's version. At least my kids find that one funny! Surely Dr Dolittle should be a fun character and not a boring, miserable, pretentious one?
We're going to watch the old version on Blu-ray tonight at home and remind ourselves how funny the storyline should be!
Seriously, how many more classics are going to be destroyed just to make a quick buck? Dumbo, destroyed. Jumanji, destroyed. Now Dr Dolittle..... The older movies are timeless and kids, who they are aimed at and don't forget that, find them funny and lose themselves in those movies. No need to keep renewing them.
Worzel Gummidge (2019)
Another classic destroyed
When you have a timeless classic such as Worzel Gummidge, why do people insist on 'updating' it when there is nothing wrong with the original! Watch an original episode with any child and they'll be asking to watch another. Leave classics alone and think of an original plot for a series.
Dunkirk (2017)
I won't get that wasted time back
Expected so much after all the hype but left feeling that I'd wasted valuable the time.
Glorified garbage which concentrates purely on the German aircraft strafing the beach and not what really happened and the mass slaughter that occurred on the edge of the same beach.
The movie spends the second half concentrating on one family who take part in the rescue, easily leaving the dock which is now in Naval hands and then a very boring trip to Dunkirk in which the father lost his son to a rescued soldier who was freaking out and yet no one blinked a eyelid.
Utter garbage, just another film Warner Bros has spent vast sums of money creating a story about nothing and marketed with a similar budget.
