Queer as Folk (2022)
Give it a chance
I'm loving this new version of QAF! I went into it without preconceived notions and not comparing it to the previous versions. I love the modern feel, the characters, the acting, the story, all of it! I'll be watching the season finale tonight & looking forward to it. Give the show a chance & go into it with an open heart & mind. If it's not for you, it's not. I do think there are all a lot of people who would enjoy this & really connect with it. 💕
If I Can't Have Love, I Want Power (2021)
This deserves a 10 for me.
This film was made for Halsey fans. As a fan myself, we go into the film loving everything about Halsey, who she is, her lyrics, her vision. Of course we are going to rate it a 10. Why would you not rate one of your favorite artists as a 10? I connect with her music on so many levels, and it has helped to heal so many people. This film embodies all of the themes she sings about. It is a masterpiece. If you're not a fan of her music/writing/vision, you probably won't like it. I love everything about it.
Regardless of the reviews, if you like Halsey, you will like this film!!!
American Horror Story: Take Me to Your Leader (2021)
Such a disappointing episode
I've never written a review on here, but I feel compelled to share my opinion. I was really looking forward to this episode and stayed up late to watch it.
The first half was interesting at times. I liked the set up and mystery, but I'm just not a fan of black and white tv/film. It's hard for me to connect with the story because I'm so distracted by it being black and white. I could have connected more possibly if the episode was all about the first storyline, or if it was longer. What's with these 35-39 minute episodes?
Then the story suddenly jumped to current times with uninteresting teens talking about their uninteresting lives. Like others have stated, it's like they added a story that should have been on American Horror Stories. It was so dull and lame. I was beyond bored. I kept thinking, what the hell? What are the writers thinking? Don't they realize how many fans they are gonna lose if they keep up with this? Of all the storylines they could use, they do this? I used to love AHS and looked forward to it each week. Now, I'm sadly starting to not care. This was the worst episode I've seen in my opinion. I would really like it if the show could get back to having great storylines, direction, and acting. At least before it was just the last episodes that were bad. The writers need to put the pipe down. No wonder Sarah Paulson said she probably won't come back for another season. I hope Ryan Murphy starts listening to the fans more. Changing the storyline to make it unexpected or shocking doesn't really make it good. A good story is always set up at the beginning, then it goes off the rails.
